This may not be on topic, but I would like to have comments on a “situation” that happened to my husband. He preaches in a small UMeth church. This past week he had a Congestive heart episode and was in hospital 3 days. While lying the hospital he had a visitor with a message from some members of the church. “J, you are losing your church”. Why? “Because you are bringing politics into the church.” My husband is a stickler for preaching from the Word, and he never holds back concerning the state of the society. His reply to his visitor: “M, you have never heard me preach. You need to come to church and hear me preach.”

Now I’m a forgiving person but this “visit” to my sick husband lying in possibly his death bed, has raised my Irish. He did recover enough to go preach this morning and he asked all to come to the front of the church for a circle prayer for healing of the church. 4 people did not come. We already knew who they were. I was not at the hospital when that person came or he probably would have regretted his gall. To top it off he left a print out for my husband to read and “educate” himself. So I’m going to put a link here in hopes that some would comment on the article. I found several Theological problems but would be interested in your take on it.

While it’s true we’re not under the law, the guy who wrote that is all goofed up in the head.

Such a man effectively bids Godspeed to someone like Obama.

I’m sure he can find “good” reasons to support Obama and Hillary on infanticide, as well. Because that is Obama’s track record and he’s essentially defending Obama and the DNC.

Jesus told the adulteress to go and sin no more. He did not say your sins are forgiven so therefore continue sinning have a good time. Sorry to hear about your husband. Prayers for his healing and your church.

If you are walking in the Spirit you are not under the law.
If you are walking in the flesh you are under the law .
If someone is encouraging your church to live in sin and walk in sin and says that sin is ok because you are under grace they are NOT walking in the Spirit .

You walking in the Spirit you are not committing or promoting what God calls abominations..

(Proverbs 22:10 KJV) Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

Here is your answer and it is what the pastor of the church is suppose to do .

(1 Corinthians 5:1 KJV) It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

(1 Corinthians 5:2 KJV) And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

(1 Corinthians 5:3 KJV) For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

(1 Corinthians 5:4 KJV) In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

(1 Corinthians 5:5 KJV) To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

(1 Corinthians 5:6 KJV) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

(1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

(1 Corinthians 5:8 KJV) Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

(1 Corinthians 5:9 KJV) I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

(1 Corinthians 5:10 KJV) Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

(1 Corinthians 5:11 KJV) But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

(1 Corinthians 5:12 KJV) For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

(1 Corinthians 5:13 KJV) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
