Roman Catholic Archbishop of Philadelphia: I admire the integrity of Muslim women who wear hijab
Jihad Watch ^ | 25 Oct 16 | Robert Spencer

Posted on 10/25/2016 7:49:59 AM PDT by LSUfan

It’s a common and recurring tendency among conservative Catholics to be complacent regarding the jihad threat because of a desire to see Muslims as allies in a culture war against all-encroaching and authoritarian secularism. This idea is based on ignorance of or indifference to the fact that, with its polygamy, divorce at a word, sexual slavery of Infidel women, allowance for wife-beating, tolerance for early abortion, and more, Islamic sexual morality is hardly akin to Catholic sexual morality. There is also a tendency, which is also found all over the West outside the Catholic Church, to assume that various concepts, and acts designed to express them, mean the same thing in an Islamic context that they do in a non-Muslim context. That false assumption is what we see here from Archbishop Chaput with regard to modesty.

Horrible. Just horrible. Indefensible. The ignorance of some Catholic clergy when it comes to Islamic doctrine and sharia is breathtaking...

In the US, they do it because it’s “cool and different”. It calls attention to them and/or it creates controversy and they like it.

It’s not an integrity thing.

And this guy is being political, not religious.

Totally agree. I was raised Catholic, but the church left me long ago. Never thought I would regard it with the same contempt as I do progressives.

Hwy, what the F### is it with the over and over and OVER and OVER and OVER bashing of Catholics lately.

WTF?!?!?!

It’s every third article on here.

WORRY about America!!!!! Are you all that consumed with hatred that you’re more concerned about this than an election that is TWO WEEKS away and will decide the fate of America!!!

Cause guess what, geniuses.

It doesn’t ####ing matter WHAT happens to the catholic church if we lose this.

Plus expect A LOT of threads from me about the acceptance of gays in MANY Christian denominations AS WELL AS the sexual abuse scandals in other Christian and Jewish sects.

It’s funny, obama won by three points among catholics. Take hispanics out and he loses big.

Asians, single white women, Jews, hispanics, blacks, gays, single mothers all did MUCH more damage but i never read any of that.

Stop the bull ####.

If Christians (in general, on average) were as dedicated to living and preaching the Gospel as mohammedans (in general, on average) are to waging jihad, the world would be a better place.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

You are missing the point. Read the whole address. He is comparing this to the lack of public commitment to religion among Christians. In other words, if only Christians had this same commitment as Muslims.

I am Catholic. I am not bashing Catholicism. But pointing out this guy’s ignorance is something that needs to be done.

I hope the next pope is from Nigeria. The clergy in Nigeria understand Islam.

[In other words, if only Christians had this same commitment as Muslims.]

Do you really think Muslim women would voluntarily wear hijab?

You mean if Christian men beat their wives into submission, and pulled off an honor killing or two if need be, Christian women would make similar shows of public commitment?

“The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity”

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

—WB Yeats

And I admire the zeal of Mormons... that doesn’t make me a follower of Joseph Smith. FR has gotten so knee-jerk these days, there is more hyperbole than political interest.

Just read the whole address here and see what he said in context. He was not praising Islam. Indeed, he admits that he has problems with it:
I have a long list of concerns with the content of Islam. But I admire the integrity of those Muslim women. And we need to help Catholics recover their own sense of distinction from the surrounding secular meltdown.
His remarks about Islam are an aside to a longer address about how Christians need to reassert their difference from a sinking secular culture. Read the whole address.

“Roman Catholic Archbishop of Philadelphia: I admire the integrity of Muslim women who wear hijab”

Does he also admire honor killing, genital mutilation and the rape of women and children espoused by Muslims?

They were put there by the homomafia Marxists/Freemasons who infiltrated the Catholic Church, took over the Vatican bank, in the 30s and 40s and took total control with VII. They took over “education” systems and Hollywood and created the Bolsheviks in Russia to destroy all traces of Christianity (for the NWO where Up is Down and Boys are Girls (women).

They are part of the NWO cabal-—One World Religion (Chrislam)-—to destroy Free Will and Individualism (Natural Law/Truth (God)) so that we remain irrational slaves of the elite homomafia psychopaths. Only rational religion is the Christian one which is aligned with the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God——God’s Design of women is not to have “polygamy” and treat them like cattle and mutilate them....like irrational, vile “islam” which was a man-created religion to destroy Christianity.

Christianity has been targeted since its inception, since it condemns slavery of groups/others and believes in individual Natural Rights from God only. it is ONLY Christianity which created the Age of Reason and Individual Natural Rights from God-—and the infiltrated CC wants to destroy those concepts in children-—create a kumbaya world of slavery by a few psychopathic sodomite elites who really desire boys-—they hate women (like the Afghani boy harems.) The homosexual movement (Gender Theory) was founded by Germans who lusted after the boys and created homosexual boy scout troops in Germany-—(they raped the boys in orgies in the forests)——for the Weimar Republic of homoerotica where no sexual morality existed (so the boys could be groomed like in Sparta).

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Chaput is still getting attention from “conservative” Catholics. He should get none.

Chaput gives Communion to pro-aborts. That is, he disobeys Canon 915, despite the fact that doing so is always a mortal sin. (It is always the mortal sin of giving grave scandal.)

On August 12, he slandered Trump by saying he is indistinguishable from Hillary. I suspect Chaput knows little or nothing about Hillary’s deep, deep, deep roots in the totalitarian Left, or the Clinton Body Count, or Hillary’s lesbian partners, or Huma’s deep, deep roots in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Chaput is deeply clerical. He blames everything wrong in the Church on the laity. He has done it many, many times in writing.

Chaput dispenses ROTTEN, IMMORAL political advice. When he is called on it, he accuses his critics of seeking salvation from Donald Trump rather than Jesus Christ.

Here’s the column in which he announces that he can’t see any difference between the pro-life candidate and a lifelong abortion fanatic:
