Communists are not so much cunning as they are deceitful.

If he were truly cunning, then he would have foreseen this happenstance.

“Carlo Caffarra, Walter Brandmuller, Joachim Meisner and Raymond Burke” made “the document public.”

Bravo. Good political move, power play and strategy. All four Cardinals are assisted by top canon lawyers. Pope Francis is not assisted by top canon lawyers. Thus, a peaceful and public discussion of canon law will reveal the weakness of Amoris Laetitia. I knew the document was weak when I saw the thirty or so times the term “transorm” was used. Hence, Pope Francis promotes suspicious reasoning and deliberated misguiding of the faithful.

I'm not sure about my Latin. What do we want on the caps, again?

Ut Ecclesia magnum est (?)

What do you expect from a Jesuit? Next pope should abolish the order.

To recall the eerily apt condemnation of the infamous Pope Honorius I by his own successor, Leo II: “We anathematize… also Honorius, who did not attempt to sanctify this Apostolic Church with the teaching of apostolic tradition, but by profane treachery permitted its purity to be polluted.”

Here we have Francis actually teaching and promoting heresy. Quite different than Honorius.

Yes. But he does it by stealth. He's a sneak, he refuses to do it ex-cathedra and sends out his apostate scoundrels, Schonborn, Baldisierri, Kasper, Spardaro, et al to dispense his heresies.

Isn’t it true that whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her?

Shouldn't you be addressing that question towards Bergoglio?

As a non-Catholic, I ponder the hypocrisy of some of the Catholic Freepers who self righteously call me a heretic for not being a Catholic all the while your own pope is a heretic...

I was addressing point made by a FReeper on this thread. I have already asked the Pope, my Bishop, the Diocesan Family Life Director, and the Diocesan Director of Religious Education.

Have you?

The cardinal’s biretta translates as “Make the Vatican Great Again”

My bishop is Cardinal DiNardo. I have asked him, numerous times, with no response from him.

How about you? Have you received any responses from the “Pope, my Bishop, the Diocesan Family Life Director, and the Diocesan Director of Religious Education”?

Excuse me, but how is this hypocrisy? Are you saying it is not possible for the Pope and you to both be heretics at the same time?

(I am not calling you a heretic here. Please note that. I am picking up on the logical implications of objecting ---as you apparently do --- that a non-Catholic and the visible head of the Catholic Church could not alike espouse some objective religious error.)

So how did the one and only true, holy and apostolic church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you proclaim all other expressions of non catholic Christian faith are apostate, how did they screw up so badly...

You are one who has told me several times there is no other true church but the RCC...

I got nothing from the first names listed. I did get a brief e-mail from the Diocesan DRE saying she was going to have to carefully read my lengthy e-mail attachment before responding. That was September 16. After that, nothing.

... On the good side of the ledger, I have had several ample talks about this with my pastor, with whom I am fortunate to have a relationship of mutual respect and trust. If I signal "We have to talk about this!" he quickly puts me on his schedule.

I am disgusted at prelates and ecclesiastical bureaucrats, from Pope Francis on down, who will not even afford their people the courtesy of an e-mail stating "I received your letter."

Got that. I was trying to figure out the best way to say "Make the Church Great Again."

My knowledge of Latin grammar is practically non-existent.

If the divorce is not recognized by the church, that would be correct.

Right you are.

Thank you.

And --- risking a confusion in terminology, but here goes ---- the only "divorce" recognized by the Church, would be one where the initial marriage never involved the making of a vowed lifelong bond in the sight of God, to begin with. In other words, the "divorce" of a marriage that could not have been considered truly and permanently binding from the git-go. Something wrong with the initial "glue."

Which is to say, you'd need a church investigation resulting in a formal finding of nullity. An annulment.
