I didn’t say Jesus was punished and tormented. But the Church teaches that “He descended into Hell for three days...”

Now if you want to deny the Apostle Creed (which is the oldest creed of the Church) then you may have an issue.

It is a mystery, we are not told much, so there is much speculation....But if we really think about it, the one who administers and is in charge of hell is God. That is a scary uncomfortable thought..

Yes, I agree but I would also add that, as David stated, it is far better to fall into the hands of God than the hands of men. I can only reconcile the dilemma of hell with the fact that men want to oppose God no matter what the cost-even if it means eternal torment. That, to me, if far scary if it were not for God. But, that is the nature and condition of man.

>>I honestly wish that people, including the Pope, spent more time reading the Bible.

Martin Luther did...

Is Francis preaching the empowerment of the Truth - or - perversion of the Truth to render pacified obedience?

“He is correct. HELL is the absence of God, for eternity.”
Agreed, and I don’t often agree with the Pope.
“Rev 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

It is clear that eternal death is described as punishment. Avoid this by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior.
OF COURSE! Why wouldn't we? He wants ONLY what's good for us. He leads us to His Father and to the Holy Spirit.
To spend ETERNITY alone, without our Creator, IS eternal damnation for us.

Once again, I refer to the video posted of the woman hitting a baby. I tried to explain this. When we view or even think of such things, our minds turn numb. We can’t even think about it.
The truth is, that this is a prime example of Jesus’ love for all of us.
Growing up, before finding, thanking and falling before Jesus I thought I knew love. My parents love me, I mean my parents love me in the truest sense. I knew what it was to be loved, but I’m talking about loving another.
I was enamored with girlfriends, I said I loved them. And at the time I truly thought I did. If you were to tell me then what I know now, I would have scoffed.
The truth is that I didn’t know what love was until I knew that Jesus loved me (and you) so much that he died on the cross for us. And he died in a horrible, violent way. He did it for me (And you). After feeling that love I knew then that what I felt for others may be respect - it may be passion but love is what I feel for my wife and daughter right now. It’s what I, in return, now feel for my older family as well.
I would have died for my exes. Sure I would have. Honestly, I would die for you all too. But I would march in and kick the doors to hell down for my wife and daughter.
I’ve dated wildly attractive women in my history. I’ve had fast-paced, respectful relations with them as well. I’ve hurt them, and they’ve hurt me. It wasn’t until I met my wife, and fell to knees before Jesus that I knew what love was.
That woman who hit her child thought (or at least claimed) to be teaching the baby a lesson. This woman didn’t think she was being evil. While I can’t attest to every aspect of this horror, I can tell you where it did NOT begin. It did NOT begin with the love of Christ.
When one understands the love of Christ, they too understand that to keep up with the love of Christ they will always fall short. But they will understand at least what love is, and strive to give it. And not give it for their own reward, nor for the reward offered at Jesus’s side in heaven - But to give it to another because that kind of love is for all, and people deserve to feel that love.
Most will never comprehend Hell ... and I don’t expect them to even come close because only a small percentage of people understand the love of Jesus Christ. And without that, one will never understand the rest. They will never understand an existence without God because they don’t understand an existence WITH God.

Thank you very much for your impassioned response. You have obviously tried very hard to do the right thing.
I see that you divorced and remarried--"exes." Do you not know what Jesus said about that? Just curious.

Sister Lucy of Fatima Describes the Vision of Hell

At Fatima, the Blessed Virgin Mary told the three child seers that many souls go to hell because they have no one to pray or make sacrifices for them. In her Memoirs, Sister Lucy describes the vision of hell that Our Lady showed the children at Fatima:

“She opened Her hands once more, as She had done the two previous months. The rays [of light] appeared to penetrate the earth, and we saw, as it were, a vast sea of fire. Plunged in this fire, we saw the demons and the souls [of the damned]. The latter were like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, having human forms. They were floating about in that conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames which issued from within themselves, together with great clouds of smoke. Now they fell back on every side like sparks in huge fires, without weight or equilibrium, amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fright (it must have been this sight which caused me to cry out, as people say they heard me). The demons were distinguished [from the souls of the damned] by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals. That vision only lasted for a moment, thanks to our good Heavenly Mother, Who at the first apparition had promised to take us to Heaven. Without that, I think that we would have died of terror and fear.”

“Hell” meant the bosom of Abraham, ie Ghenna.

That “church” also teaches many other vastly contra-scriptural things.

Sister Lucy of Fatima was a demonically tormented person, and it is clear that nothing she saw was from Yehova, but from her “god” the adversary.

There is no “Heavenly Mother,” that is one of Satan’s false personages. He also pretends to be an “Angel of Light.”

No, Joshua is phonetically the same as Yeshua, and has nothing to do with the Rabbinical curse against his name.

The only thing that is clear is that you have no idea of what you’re talking about.

Stick to your little cult, if you must.

Imagine a place… Not only totally separate from God… But without his presence at all.

A place where there is no light… Total darkness… A place where you are eternally alone… Without hope…

...Without sight....without companionship...without sound, except the sound of your own madness...

....alone...forever....in darkness.

forever.

***************

I fall before my Lord and Savor...and praise him for his Grace through his blood alone.

Have you also been saved by His Blood?

What is your point? Are you saying that Christ did not descend into hell? Are you saying that God is not omnipresent?

I’m saying Hell has many definitions now that it didn’t have when the word was written.

Nowhere in the word is “Hell” a place of punishment.

The Lake that burns eternally with sulfur is the place of punishment. Yeshua didn’t go there.

Hell is hell. Christ was in hell, the unquenchable fire. Now what took place there is anyone's guest. Peter states that He preached there but that is all the info we have.

The Lake of Fire is only referred to in Revelations and does sound like something in the future. Jesus will NOT be in the Lake of Fire. He is now a physical person with a physical (glorified) body. That does not mean that the Spirit of God will not be in the Lake of Fire. Since God the Father is omnipresent (everywhere at everytime) then His presence will also be in the Lake of Fire. You're assuming that God can be tormented in either Hell or the Lake of Fire. I wouldn't make that assumption.

This is a difficult concept to understand but must be so. This is a mystery concerning how the Trinity works. I don't understand, I only accept that it must be so because that is what the scriptures teaches.

Wait, didn’t he last teach us that the soul is annihilated?

http://remnantnewspaper.com/web/index.php/fetzen-fliegen/item/1611-did-pope-francis-just-deny-the-existence-of-hell

This man doesn’t believe in “Hell”. He is not Catholic. He is not pope.
