The pattern of the traditional Protestant churches is clear: first acceptance of pre-marital sex, then adultery, then divorce, then women in the pulpit, then homosexuals in the clergy, then homosexual “marriage”. Once you remove one of the pillars of the Faith the entire edifice crumbles. Nobody in this life can attain perfection but we can’t stop striving to reach that goal. If the leaders of a church - any church - tell people they no longer have to meet God’s standards, they are not just in dereliction of their sworn duty, they are endangering souls.
