George Soros says the same things as you about Putin and Russia - and Soros has funded and supported many "NGOs" to help move Russia towards his way of thinking - promoting LGBT, open-borders, a quasi-poltical media, etc...
Russians, after their total economic, spiritual, and economic collapse, and 25 year adjustment process, are very wary of foreigners of all stripes wanting to put their own desires on the country, many for devious reasons. I do not blame them for that suspicion.
