Holy God,
We praise you for your unending love. Our spirits are willing, but the flesh is weak. We are stubborn and selfish. We stumble and go our own way doing what we want as we wander from your will. Even yet because of your great mercy, when we repent all our sin is forgiven. Jesus gave his life dying on the cross to compensate for our sins.
Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. We ask for your Spirit to teach and give us courage to stand firm for what is true. We especially pray for President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence. You have placed them in authority to lead our nation. Give them awareness and wisdom to lead our nation. Provide physical, mental and spiritual protection from all that would harm them or our nation.
With thankful hearts, we pray all this through the name of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen
