Nonsense; this world would be very different if this was the case. The Church may be growing in parts of the world, but it has practically ceased to exist in much of the West. Everybody has a story of some vibrant parish or chapel somewhere or other, but when you see how few baptisms and marriages take place in your average American parish you realize the heyday is quickly drawing to a close. The pace at which parishes are closing is picking up; there are too few priests and too few parishioners....
I think what he meant to say is that the Pope today is a worldly leader. "Whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God" James 4.4
