We as Catholics don't have the luxury to "believe what we wish" on these matters.

I'm sorry that you "disagree" with St. Paul or perceive misogyny in his writings. However, the Word you dispute is Sacred Scripture and the ones that you have disagreement with are the Holy Spirit who inspired its writing and the Church that has the authority to interpret it.
