She said she voted for Trump.Stood next to him at the Black History Museum and Dr Ben Carson and the President hugged her and talked about
her.What more do you want.How do you know she’s a reg.Dem?
The way to really tell if a group affects a presidential election isn’t by a flat % for any group, like Catholics or whoever. The way to really tell is to go state by state so you can tell what happens with their vote and the electoral college.
Freegards
most of the Catholics in my family are pro-life and vote pro-life..3 out of 4 of my grandparents were democrats, their children and grandchildren saw the light and realized that it was more important to vote pro-life than for labor unions, etc..and of course roe v. wade had a lot to do with the change from democrat to republican..those of voting age at the time, were repulsed by Kennedy and didn’t vote for him regardless of his so-called religious faith...
She wanted to develop a Pro-Life part of the Democratic party.
I might have also read about it on the Internet after that.
She is pro-life first and foremost. She was Democrat when she was Georgia state Representative, but that was a long, long time ago.
I remember that and I remember you.You are right in the part should she walk away because of the latest news that being democrat is pro-death. She read prayers at the prayer ceremony after Trump was elected the next day and Trump walked up to
thank her.Father Pavone said she was there for Priests for Life. It’s all there.
The Catholic Church has always stood against the Culture of Death, in teaching, yes. Can the same be said of the Catholics’ beliefs in the U.S.A? Well, sources say mostly no, now.
My own knowledge of my fellow Catholics, and I’ve lived in quite a few states due to my work, is mostly in agreement with the statistics of the latest studies done.
I asked you if you had another source, a more recent one, because you, yes you, stated 2013 was too long ago and things had changed now. How that could possibly be too long ago, I don’t know. Because an illness like that is something that takes generations to occur and generations to heal. My suspicion is the damage inflicted on the church has become worse, not better.
Of course you know, the Holy Bible nor the Catechism is a source for what Catholics believe...they are sources for what Catholics are supposed to study, believe and practice.
Obviously, and I do mean that in every sense of the word, Catholics are publicly “allowed” to believe what’s popular in public life and publicly they will be given a pass. We witness extremely popular Catholic institutions and clergy and charitable affiliations endorsing Culture of Death politicians and policies and practices fat too often for it to be considered standing against the Culture of death. Extremely rare it is, for even the most vile of these to be denied communion or to be publicly reprimanded and disassociated with the Church...even those who very publicly shack up with one another and support sodomy marriage, abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide, infanticide, eugenics, IVF, embryonic stem cell research and Islam, get a pass.
That’s not much of a stand against the Culture of Death, from my perspective. It is more like:
“This is what we teach and if you don’t believe and practice it, it is on you. But know we as church will not publicly condemn you for supporting all of the popular grave sins, unless you say publicly the Catholic church teaching itself supports that sin. At which time, we’ll deny that’s church teaching and wish you well and hope to see you for your next communion, btw, you really should reconcile. But, we’re so blessed you’re mayors, governors, congressmen, senators, vice presidents, presidents, teachers, catechists, deacons, priests, bishops.”
As I see it, if it ever in time happens that the majority of Catholics support the Culture of Death, that’s a clear indicator that the Catholic Church needs healing. Putting our heads in the sand and ignoring that truth is a big part of the problem. But apparently you’re of the perspective there is no problem.
I don’t why you’re arguing about the truth of what I said.
I couldn’t be any clearer about what has been quite common knowledge ever since I’ve been an adult and I’m 56 and have been Catholic since I was 8.
The majority of Catholics voted knowingly for the Culture of Death in the U.S.A. many times, not the least of which was 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. You know as well as anyone there’s been a Marxist faction of the Catholic Church and we all should know Marxism is totalitarian authoritarianism that demands atheism, but does the Catholic Church crack down on that? Well, perhaps we should ask Tim Kaine the Marxist revolutionary and Culture of Death politician, who got a standing ovation at mass and whom the bishop refused to comment on and several priests publicly praised.
And, I don’t know why you’re trying to put words into my comments that I never said.
Twice you’ve misrepresented what I said. Perhaps you’re reading what you expect to see?
There are lots of them. They are Democrats first, Catholic last.
Pew is not and never has been. It was originally Tribune Research, and it was a division of the
Chicago newspaper of that same name. I gather outside polling sources consistently failed to produce the results Chicago tribune editors wanted their writers to quote.
Eventually the division was spun off as a separate entity and (after some years) changed it's name to Pew.
I put Pew Research in exactly the same category as The Southern Poverty Law center, and I would not reference either one under any circumstance.
**My own knowledge of my fellow Catholics, and Ive lived in quite a few states due to my work, is mostly in agreement with the statistics of the latest studies done.**
You can believe what you want, but that doesn’t put ALL CATHOLICS in your mindset category.
You cannot lump a group generally like that. There are always exceptions — many, in fact.
**Of course you know, the Holy Bible nor the Catechism is a source for what Catholics believe...they are sources for what Catholics are supposed to study, believe and practice.**
Again you try to lump ALL CATHOLICS together in your statement. It can never be correct, since there are always exceptions.
