Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

This briefly mentioned item is perhaps one of the most enduring furnishings in the Tabernacle in all of the Abrahamic Faiths. It stands before the Door of the Holy Place and serves as a washing basin for the Priests. Considering the sacrificial duties of the Levites and Priests, this washbasin served a very practical purpose. However, the Symbolism of washing, the placement of the Laver before the Door, and the bronze material used in its construction were all to become immortalized in the Jewish Custom of the Mikvah, the Christian practice of Baptism, and even the Moslem practice of washing before prayer. Bronze is a different metal than gold, the metal that was used in all the other furnishings. It is the general idea that Gold symbolizes Immortality, Purity, and Incorruptibility, while Bronze symbolizes Judgement, Earthiness, and Worldly Power. Perhaps this is because of the way these metals respond to oxidation and the passage of time, gold being something that does not succumb to time. Bronze...on the other hand, gets corrupted quite quickly in comparison.

The Laver gets a little mention here, but when Solomon builds his HUGE Temple to house the little Golden Ark, he spends quite a bit of time, money, and resources making an enormous bronze Laver, with twelve life-size bronze bulls supporting it on their backs. What does that tell us about "emphasis"?

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

I will set your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the river [Euphrates]; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand and you shall drive them out before you. (Exodus 23:31 AMP)

We pray, Father, for the protection of Israeli borders. Our trust is in You.
