Is the Rapture a Christian Guarantee?
YouTube ^ | Sept. 10, 2011 | Scottie Clarke

Video only making a case for a partial rapture.

Key point made about ten minutes in. Scottie Clarke is credited for identifying the Rev 12 sign on tellurium and has made some excellent videos on the Yom Temurah anomaly in the Virgo constellation.

This was a teaching of Watchman Nee and many of the Brethren movement, and has many adherents today.

An excellent post! Thank you.

>>We cannot be clear if a partial rapture is certain - but it may be a possibility.<<

The Marriage Supper and “Bride of Christ” rank may be rewards as well.

His Church (His redeemed ones) are called the “Bride of Christ”, no matter their gender. He’s speaking of His relationship to them.

No Arlis, I had meant to refer sueQ to what you had written in #17. I addressed the post to you instead.

If you read all of Luke 21 it seems to indicate that folks will see signs of the end times and all will see Jesus return - seems to be more of a warning to accept Christ so you can stand before Him rather than a “if you have been saved but haven’t been a good boy, in which case you have some extra suffering because you proved what God already proved - without the sacrifice of Jesus, none could be worthy of redemption....”

sue,
The LJC concludes the Parable of the Ten Virgins with an exhortation — not to be saved — but to be expectant.

Those who were ready went with him into the wedding. Then the door was shut.
11 “Later the other bridesmaids came and said, ‘Lord, lord, open the door for us.’
12 “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’ (much of the interpretation here swings on the term “know.” )13 “Therefore, keep alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour.
He doesn’t end by saying, “Therefore, repent and be saved.” But from the context the LJC appears to be addressing believers, those who have been saved already.

My simple question: What is prophecy for anyway?

From T A McMahon>>
In a general sense, prophecy refers to everything God has to say to His rational creatures. The Bible, therefore, as God’s specific revelation to mankind, is a completely prophetic book (2 Pt 1:19-21). It is His forthtelling us things we could not know otherwise.

Prophecy also includes His foretelling, or telling us ahead of time what will take place. The ability to predict the future, which, as we said, pertains to nearly one-third of the Scriptures, is declared by God to be a major proof that He alone is God: “...I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done” (Isa:46:9-10)<<
).

When He said "I don't know you", He meant I DON'T KNOW YOU - as in, I never knew you... as in Matt. 7:23:22-23 "Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’" He doesn't say "I once knew you, but now I don't". He says, "I never knew you."

Joseph had not “known” Mary until after the birth of Christ.

So you are stating that Christ is using the Parable of the Ten Virgins to warn his *unbelieving* followers & listeners that they’ll miss the Rapture if they don’t get saved. And you are saying the parable is not about expectancy but saving faith.

What is the context???

That ‘tribulation’ some have devised an escape hatch from, is mass deception. Revelation 12:9 names the fake Jesus.

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord KNOWS those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness." (2Tim. 2:19) To be "His", you MUST be born again.

The issue is not salvation or sin but vigilance and worldliness. If we, as Christians, become enraptured and molded by the world, occupying ourselves with it rather than with Christ, the Lord might just shut the Rapture Door on us. This is not a loss of salvation as much as it is a loss of privilege.

Do you have a Bible reference to back that up? I’ve got one. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 1:6)

Luke 21:
34 “Take care that your hearts aren’t dulled by drinking parties, drunkenness, and the anxieties of day-to-day life. Don’t let that day fall upon you unexpectedly, 35 like a trap. It will come upon everyone who lives on the face of the whole earth. 36 Stay alert at all times, praying that you are strong enough to escape everything that is about to happen and to stand before the Human One.”[c]

Are you born again of the Spirit Eli? Does Christ’s Spirit dwell in you? Are you His?

“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” (Rom. 8:9)

One of Paul’s references to rewards for believers, and God’s judgment of a believer’s WORKS.....and salvation......

I Corin. 3:12-15

Sadly, I honestly believe the majority of works that saints THINK they are doing for the Lord will be wood, hay, stubble - and burned up in the day of judgment. Especially works a believer may be proud of..... “Lord - remember when I did this? and that?” - and He will say, “No. That was you, and not Me.”

AND that many of the works that believers are rewarded for, they will be totally surprised....”Lord! When did I..........”, because they were works of the Holy Spirit, and the flesh had no part in.

A number of evangelical, conservative denominations sadly promote works with no concept of the fact that only the Holy Spirit can do the works of God - and the flesh can easily imitate many works of God - but man gets the credit and the glory.

Jesus said, “Apart from Me - you can do NOTHING...” And even told us that even He could do nothing - apart from the Father......

Only those works done by the Holy Spirit in utter dependence on Him will remain.......
