The Hebrew for “sons of God” in Genesis was the same as was used in Job in describing the “sons of God”( who were all assembled in the presence of God when Satan would come to accuse Job as well described as “shouting for Joy” at the creation of the universe) The term is only used twice..Genesis and Job. It has generally been interpreted as being “angels”. Genesis, in describing the congress between the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men”, starkly leaves no quarter in describing the effect of such an abomination, the production of nephilum, giants and of ungodly supermen with the ancient world being torn with violence. Jude describes these beings as having “left their own estate” and were kept in darkness awaiting their final judgment. These weren’t men, they were fallen beings who interrupted god’s plan for men and attempted to genetically modify us for their own ends so God put them under his judgment. Have you ever wondered why Genesis put an emphasis on “seed” as in the “seed of the woman” would be at enmity with the “seed of the Serpent” or Satan?

Anyway...there is no major spiritual issue if one views the “sons of God” as the “godly” line of Seth running from Seth thru Enoch and Methuselah(”when he dies it shall come” menaning the flood) vs the more otherworldly version. Acknowledging Jesus as Lord and the repentence of sin and confessing with the mouth as well as believing that God has raised jesus from the dead is the most important thing!

I’m not an ‘ancient astronauts’ interpreter of genesis 6-9...I think evil spirits in line with Satan caused us to choose sin and they messed up our world because they hated God and they hated that he put his divine spark into “matter made” men! Yet the spirits found themselves in bad situation finding that they needed to try to fashion men into “suitable containers” that they could possess. By rebelling, they lost all cover and self containment...you might say they needed suitable human figleaves to “cover their own nakedness”.

Natural humans would each have their own special “divine spark”(though separated from God) that would prove too troublesome(especially as God continuously calls for the souls of men and women) for most demons to contend with but if they could modify the human genome to say “filter” out the animus/spirit that God puts into humans at conception then they would have an unending supply of “containers”!

The Hebrew for “sons of God” in Genesis was the same as was used in Job in describing the “sons of God”(

According to Strong's...

Genesis 6:2
1121 [e]
ḇə·nê-
בְנֵי־
the sons
Noun
430 [e]
hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm
הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙
of God
Noun

===============================================================
Job 38:7
1121 [e]
bə·nê
בְּנֵ֥י
the sons
Noun
430 [e]
’ĕ·lō·hîm.
אֱלֹהִֽים׃
of God

Uh...   The Hebrew seems to be just a bit different in the two.

There is a problem though when they say the sons of God are the sons of Seth, as if they Sethites were less pure. First, there is nothing unique about the children spawning from such mixed marriages. Second, if the Sethites were inherently less sinful so as to be called sons of God versus those ungodly daughters of men -— why did they look upon them with lust and take of them wives. Does not fit the usage of son’s of God in Scripture at any point in the Old Testament. It is always referring to angels.

[Gen 6:2, 4 KJV] 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. ... 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.
[Job 1:6 KJV] 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
[Job 2:1 KJV] 1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
[Job 38:7 KJV] 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
