"White Christians who are upset at NFL players who choose to protest during the playing of the national anthem are showing that they're more "white" than they are "Christian," the Rev. Jim Wallis has claimed."
SO WHAT?
To: SeekAndFind
Have the NFL players stopped beating their wives yet?

If he had said that such people were more American than Christian, I might have listened, since there is always the temptation to place country over God. Since he decided to make it a race issue, however, I don’t need to listen any further, since there also the temptation to place race over God, but that is an issue for the protestors, not those who stand for the flag and the anthem.

RE: Never heard of this guy
He is president of the progressive Christian social justice organization Sojourners. He is an often quoted ( by the media ) FOIL against “right-wing” evangelicals.

Voting Democrat and claiming to be a Christian is the real problem.

What is “Christian” to him?
Christian is an awfully broad term in general use.

RE: What’s your point, exactly?
At bottom, he seems to be saying that those who claim to be Christians but are upset over what the NFL players are doing, are NOT REALLY CHRISTIANS.

Progressive Christian. Contradiction in terms.
To: SeekAndFind
Jim Wallis is more communist than white and is not Christian at all. He just claims to be, hoping to lead Christians astray.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)
