Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Bans Foreign Weddings on Rhodes Following Lewd British Wedding Photo

A British couple have caused outrage on the Greek island of Rhodes with a wedding photo in which the couple perform a sex act in front of a Greek Orthodox monastery, leading the head of the island’s Greek Orthodox Church to ban future foreign weddings.

The groom, Matthew Lunn, posted a photo of his new wife Carly on Facebook as she knelt in her white dress, appearing to perform oral sex on her new husband.

No one expected the international reaction as the photo soon went viral and eventually reached local news media on Rhodes and Metropolitan Kyrillos, the head of the island’s Greek Orthodox Church.

Kyrillos announced a decision to ban all foreign weddings at the monastery of St Paul, a popular venue for British tourists where hundreds of dream weddings take place every year.

Giorgos Eleftheriou, president of the local Lindos community in Rhodes, told The Times of London “We are Greek and we cherish our traditions and the sanctity of our religious sites. We cannot allow this disgusting behavior to prevail.”

Eleftheriou added that the ban by the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan leaves hundreds of British couples scrambling to change their wedding plans.

“I have hundreds of soon-to-be brides from Britain and all over the world calling me today in tears because of this decision,” he said.

“Part of that is relatively few, mostly wealthy and well educated Americans travel much.”

Also, when Americans of more modest backgrounds travel, they see it as a big deal, something they had to work hard to pay for, and they are not inclined to engage in shenanigans.

I am still stunned that this ghastly story involved several generations of two middle class families at a WEDDING.

Well, Greeks at monasteries do have their decorum.

Progressive immorality is why we can no longer have nice things. In Europe worse even than here.

Yes, Jimmy was right the Russians give the Brits a run. Any warm beachy place with flights from Moscow is sure to be full of them.
