Randy has a standard approach of getting a few facts 2nd or 3rd hand that are borderline verifiable and then spinning a web around them based on speculation, connections, interviews, dubious inferences, scare tactics, and her own tendencies toward hysteria. The end result is a book or article that leaves an “average reader” overwhelmed, confused, and more important, unable to discern true causes, but giving a false impression of scholarship.

For someone like you who seems to be an expert on the faith and Church problems, putting her points in perspective may be possible. However, for most readers, re the homosexual crisis, for example, I would steer a curious Catholic to Goodbye Good Men before anything of Randy’s.

In my opinion, both are good books.
