My problem with it concerns the accuracy of the facts posted. They were “selective” shall we say in what was presented.

Of course they were selective. The blog presents the point of view of the blogger.

But you were equally selective when you asserted in post 478 that the blog was a little loose and slanted with the facts for stating that the The Catechism of the Catholic Church lets us know that the Eucharist is a “memorial.” You stated that the Catechism calls the Eucharist a sacrifice in multiple places.

You were both correct. The Catechism does call the Eucharist a sacrifice in multiple places. Other names given for the Eucharist in Part Two, Section Two, Chapter One, Article 3, The Sacrament of the Eucharist, include; Holy Sacrifice, holy sacrifice of the Mass, sacrifice of praise, spiritual sacrifice, and pure and holy sacrifice.

The blogger was correct in stating that the Catechism lets us know that the Eucharist is a memorial. Article 3 V., The Sacramental Sacrifice: Thanksgiving, Memorial, Presence, states in CCC 1358:

We must therefore consider the Eucharist as:
— thanksgiving and praise to the Father;
— the sacrificial memorial of Christ and his Body;
— the presence of Christ by the power of his word and of his Spirit.

Not a sacrifice where Christ suffers and dies over and again each Mass, but a sacrificial memorial, where we commemorate the sacrifice that Christ offered once for all on the cross.

Peace,
Rich

I took it the blogger was trying to avoid the sacrifice aspect of the Mass where the priest brings Christ down from Heaven to be on the altar over and over and over again as noted by a Roman Catholic priest.

To me, that was an attempt to hide something.
