Can somebody let me know the contextual reason why Jesus considered the re-marriage of divorced people to other folks a form of adultery? I am a newly Saved Christian, and I still find that particular edict puzzling. Must a man or woman be alone until his ex-spouse dies, following what might have been an acrimonious divorce that would preclude them getting back together?

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul clearly places responsibility for taking communion on the individual. The only person who should be judging the taking of communion is God. If an individual takes communion unworthily, it's between the individual and God. It's certainly nothing that another man is qualified to judge.

This is a clear teaching from I Corinthians, which I happen to have been reading over the last few days. No man should be adding to Biblical teaching...
