>>Mainline Protestant denominations led the letter in both numbers and prestige, with a female United Methodist bishop and priestesses from the Presbyterian Churches USA, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, United Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, American Baptist Churches USA, Reformed Church in America, Unity Church, Episcopal Church, and United Methodist Church signing the document.
I left the UMC after the 2013 Florida Annual Conference where a floor argument broke out over a resolution for pastors to counsel against abortion if a female congregant chose to tell the pastor she was planning to have one. Not to tell her no, or to bring any discipline. Just to counsel.
The female pastors were furious that anyone would even dare suggest such a thing.
Then, some male pastor got up and said something that made me feel sick. He said, “No one really even knows when life begins anyway.”
That’s not a Christian church anymore.
Anyone who can't tell the difference between a live Homo sapiens and a dead one, isn't qualified to practice medicine.
They can't tell alive from dead, they care less for a human than for a harp seal pup, they don't know how to tell a boy from a girl...
And they say we're science-deniers?
I’m sorry that it took you until 2013 to come to your realization.
Many of the “mainline” churches let atheist draft dodgers into their seminaries to keep them out of Vietnam.
That fundamentally dishonest act has destroyed them.
