It is in fact a doctrine of the Church often repeated by the Fathers of the Church and taught formally.

Fortunately, this false teaching is never in Scripture.

Salvation is in Christ alone.

exactly- the thief on the cross wasn’t a catholic and didn’t belong to the church, nor did the poor beggar who was with Christ when he died- nor were the roman soldiers that got saved when paul was prisoner- nor was cesar’s household- Salvation is through Christ alone- not through Christ + the church

This is NOT a false doctrine, especially as explained by Pope, Charles. The false doctrine is believing that any man-made organization is the Body of Christ, the Church. So lighten up, on the Catholic bashing. Jesus will do it so much better than you ever could, and His judgement will be perfectly applied.

This is NOT a false doctrine, especially as explained by Pope, Charles.

Indeed, it is false exactly because it contradicts Scripture.

Romans10:
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
The false doctrine is believing that any man-made organization is the Body of Christ, the Church.

The Body of Christ is the Body of those who have entrusted themselves to HIM for salvation. It is not earthly.

So lighten up, on the Catholic bashing. Jesus will do it so much better than you ever could, and His judgement will be perfectly applied.

I criticized a doctrine, not a Catholic. If you want to see anti-Catholic vitriol, just read the comments by FRomans about your Pope.

Christ established ONE truth and established ONE Church to convey His teachings. Those who obstinately refuse to accept Catholic teachings cannot hope for salvation. Inquiring minds have converted to Catholicism in the millions from every faith and culture.

However, the Catholic Church believes that the Good Thief exhibited a Baptism of Desire as well as a Baptism of Blood.

I’ll take the words of Jesus Christ:

“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you” (Jn 6:53).

And where do you find that Holy Communion? In the Catholic Church!

Salvation is in Christ alone.

This is obvious to anyone who understands scripture.

"I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER BY THROUGH ME." I see no mention of church in Christ's word.

The RC church seems to believe that it and not Christ is the Savior.

Christ established ONE truth and established ONE Church to convey His teachings.

One salvation, found in no other than Christ. Nor any other way to salvation but HIM alone. No church gives salvation. No church died for anyone's sins.

Christ founded an assembly on earth (greek), wherever 2 or more are gathered in His name, and not a church (later german concept).

Those who obstinately refuse to accept Catholic teachings cannot hope for salvation.

Believe contrary to Scripture at your choosing. Your claim isn't in Scripture at all. It is a man-made assertion.

Inquiring minds have converted to Catholicism in the millions from every faith and culture.

Seems they are leaving in far greater numbers... South America alone.

PS - nice to see you back Steely.

a Baptism of Desire as well as a Baptism of Blood.

Neither Biblical. Just a man-made doctrine.

There is no Holy Communion in Scripture. There is the Lord's Supper. It is celebrated until He returns, among believers everywhere.

From the Last Supper Christ says to the Apostles, “Do this in remembrance of me.”

Again I’ll take Christ’s words over any others.

Christians do this everywhere when they celebrate the last supper.
