Oh, I certainly object. I hear this theory every now and then, usually promoted by those who dislike modern Israel for some reason, and seek to use this to explain away Israel’s unique, God-ordained role in present and future events.

There are endless ways to disprove this notion that most or all end-times prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD, but one of the most obvious is that the vast majority of scholars agree that John wrote the book of Revelation around 96 AD. That simple fact clearly makes it impossible for the events depicted in Revelation to have been referencing what would then have been the past.
