I quit the Catholic club years ago and don’t follow church politics and politicians. But I don’t see fault in this fellow acknowledging individual freedom.
He is not to blame for a government that does not respect God-given individual rights, yet does respect man-made religions.
As almost always... the problem here is gov’t.
The gov’t should NOT allow religion-based exemptions. There should be no need. Because gov’t should NOT be employing force this way in the first place.
The main thing I fault the Christian churches for in times like this is the lack of teaching / public advocacy for Freedom. Both Christianity and America are based entirely upon it. At an individual level. No need to involve institutional religion level nonsense in matters between the gov’t and individuals.
