Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
Jude A Call to Persevere
17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. 22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
Doxology
24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Jude, also called Thaddeus, is pictured with the Flame of Pentecost on his head, a club or carpenter's rule, and sometimes a medalion showing the burial cloth emblazoned with the face of the Risen Christ. Even though his book in the Bible is very short, it is powerful.
The Doxology at the end of the Book of Jude was the "official" prayer of the Biker Church where I ministered as Director of Music. Since we all "stumble" from time to time, it was the perfect prayer for us imperfect people.
Just yesterday, a Biker shared the following prayer with me, and I asked if i could share it on Today's Thread. It fits in perfectly with the Thread's teaching on Prayer:
A Christian Motorcyclist’s Prayer
Lord, who am I that You have allowed me this privilege of so fully enjoying the greatness of Your creation with all of my five senses - the wind in my face and ears, and a full view of your world - banking as a bird on the wing in every turn?
I acknowledge it is but your grace and mercy to grant me this blessing, and I pray that in every mile I ride that I might remember, honor and worship You as my Lord, God and Savior; that as I behold your glorious creation with an unrestricted view that my heart might be filled with greater worship for the One who gave His life for my sins and salvation. I pray that somehow my beholding your creation in this way that the love in my heart that I have for You would increase even more – because You first loved me.
But I must quickly acknowledge that I am but a frail and fragile creature whose very existence and safety is always in your divine, loving and sovereign hands. As I ride with the increased danger of traveling in a fallen world without the protection of a steel cage, I therefore humbly ask You for Your divine protection as I ride:
First, Lord, protect me from myself - from my doing things stupid, careless, erring in judgment or not being alert at all times. I am sometimes a fool, sometimes a bit crazy, and You know that I am “but dust”, and I need your grace and protection every moment.
Second, Lord, I ask you would protect me from others on the road – all other fallen creatures like me - who would be careless or inattentive as they drive around me – especially those using their phones, eating, texting, or otherwise not focusing on their driving. Especially help them to always see me and be aware of my presence.
Third, Lord, I ask your protection from all the animals that You have created and that are under your sovereign rule: please keep them from my path as I ride that neither they nor I would be harmed.
Fourth, I ask your protection from objects in the road or mechanical failure which would result in harm to myself or others, and from similar failure in other vehicles near me.
Lastly, most gracious and sovereign Lord, I pray that somehow in my riding that You may open doors for the increase of your kingdom, your glory and praise, that I might minister your grace, love and forgiveness to those who do not know You, and that I be an encouragement and blessing to those who do.
In the most blessed Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalm 100
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;*
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures for ever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
