Remove the word “vain” from that verse and you might have a point. However, the word is there and has meaning.

This issue is addressed in the fairly short video I posted, which not many people wish to watch or comment on. It’s just on with the talking points without seeking to understand a different point of view. :(

The Bible would be a whole lot easier if a lot of words were removed. However, the word is present, so lets look at the definitions of the word.

One of the definitions of “vain” is producing no result; useless. “a vain attempt to tidy up the room”. So now lets substitute the definition in the scripture:

In praying, don’t use vain [producing no results; useless] repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.

I assert that my point still stands even with the term “vain”.
