1. Who is I? David.

2. Who are my mother's sons.? David's brothers.

Very good! If you'd interpret the rest of the Tanakh this way, you'd be well on the way to your bar mitzvah. Mazel Tov! ;o)

Nobody thinks you are lying when you speak of what the RCC teaches. You are being either incredibally hypocritical, naive, or both when you deny that millions of Catholics worship Mary. Why do you continue to insist that this is not so because the Church teaches differently?

Because I have no reason to believe any differently.

These Catholics know very well what the RCC teaches concerning birth control. Their artificially low birth rate is due to one thing; ARTIFICIAL BIRTH CONTROL! You can talk till the cows come home about what the Church Teaches, but if the majority, or great numbers, do differently, the teaching is worth ink and paper.

The teaching is sound and there are many Catholics who adhere to it. And as you know, it was the Protestant Churches who changed their teaching on this matter because they used to agree with us.

If the RCC counted as Catholics, only those who are faithful to the official teaching the RCC would have a very small membership.

On this point I will agree it would be a smaller membership. However, it would still number in the hundreds of millions.

Did you see the vicious rant of little Andy Rooney, 60 minutes resident idiot? They really should not allow him to go on the air while intoxicated.

Gee, darn ... I missed it. ;o) What was the little man whining about this time?

Very good! If you'd just interpret the rest of the Tanakh this way, you'd be well on the way to your bar mitzvah. Mazel Tov! ;o)

Yeah, right. So much damage done to the plain meaning of the words used in Scripture. First "wine" doesn't mean "wine," then "This is my body" means "This is a symbol of my body." When will the madness end?

John 6:

63 It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

And John 6:63 doesn't really mean what it says. It requires "revealed" interpretation by SD.

Based on his behavior around here I think the question is legit.

Yeah. That was the same response I got from him re: Reggie's behavior. You sure you want to use the same defense? Or did "eye for an eye" get replaced with something else?

This is a great example of how so many churches have changed in order to please the people instead of demanding that the people change in order to please God.

Can I convert long enough to get all the gifts and then convert back?

Luther believed that Christ, after his death and resurrection, would not have entrusted his Mother to the care of the Disciple John were there other children of Mary.

At the risk of being repetitious, do you suppose it was because his brothers didn't believe in him? John was there. His brothers weren't. Simple!

It wasn't after his ressurection BTW.

You just answered your own question.

Boy you got that right! How do they get away with calling themselves "evangelical" if they have no relationships to other "evangelicals"? That's like the local Mormon "church" offshoot calling themselves "Later Day Baptists". It just doesn't make sense.

“Therefore don't judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God. (1Co 4:5)”

No premature judgement at all. You keep wanting me to refrain from judgement entirely or postponing my judgement to a later date. If I see you kneeling in front of a statue of Mary with a rosary I'm gonna make a judgement. If I see a bank robber kneeling in front of a safe with a gun in his hand I'm gonna make a judgement. If my judgement is wrong I'll have to answer to God. However, I am confident enough with the evidence that has prestented itself to proceed with my judgements.

There are Protestants Catholics who know the difference between veneration and worship.

Same thing?

Has anyone here been "mystery worshipped?" If you know about mystery shoppers, then you'll know what I'm talking about. We just discovered that we had a mystery worshipper at our church last year who wrote this review.

Have any of you had a similar experience?

I just wanted to share an event that happened yesterday that will probably be appreciated more by the NC's here then the RC's.

After the morning service yesterday morning my 7-year old son, Joshua, told me that he wanted to go to Heaven. I sat down with him and showed him some verses from the Bible. We started in Ro 3:23 where we spoke about sin, what it was, and who was guilty. I asked him if he was a sinner, this has always been the sticking point before because he would never say that he was a sinner, this time he agreed that he was indeed a sinner.

Next we went to Ro 6:23 and spoke about God's gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ versus the wages that our sin has earned for us, death and Hell.

Then we went to Ro 10:13 and I explained to him what calling upon the name of the Lord meant. I asked him if he wanted to do that and he said yes. So he prayed right then and told Jesus that he was a sinner and that he believed that Jesus had died on the Cross for his sins and asked Him to be his Savior.

I am praying that he understood what it was that happened yesterday.

-Kevin

I've seen it written that it would have been a severe violation of Mosaic Law for Mary to be entrusted to anyone except her bloodborne children if there were any.

Angelo - Do you have any information on this? Not my area of expertise.

You sound like our kind of people. :)

Really? Do you believe the Papacy was/is a corrupt institution?

Institution? No. Do I believe that some popes have been corrupt? Yes.

Why?
