Unbe;ivers regard all religion as "smoke and mirrors." To them all pray is futile because God is deaf to our pleas. We believe that the Church consists of all those in Christ, living and dead. If my mother loves me now, she will love me all the more when she is with God. Because of the blinders have been removed, she will have even more concern for me, especially if she sees me drifting away from the Lord. All she can do now is to petition God. You believe that she-and again I am talking about MY mother--has no power on earth. But might not God allow her to warn me or comfort me just as she did while she was here with me?
