Its hard to look at a translation made in 1946, that is supported by a translation made in 1582, that is supported by a translation made in 380, and take you very seriously when you claim I am shopping around.

Is it supported by the Greek? Well in fact yes it is. The greek word translated in the Vulgate as gratia (grace) is Charis. In Ephesians 1:6 the Greek word Charis is the same word Translated by KJV as Grace (Strongs concordance # 5487). All same same.
