I don't really have a defense of the Palestinians. I am just wary, as I said, of defining the actions of one nation as "God-ordained."
Can you tell me that every action every person acting in the name of Israel has done has been upright? I refuse to look at the situation as black and white. Yes, I defend Israel's right to exist and protect herself. I mostly think the "Palestine" thing is a farce, as the peoples rightly belong in Jordan and other Arab a nations. I just have a problem when people use the Bible as a guide to foreign affairs.

Then I guess I don't understand what you mean by this:
this is not an excuse to simply ignore the other sides to the present difficulties
You never wary of defending your religious organization as "God-Ordained". The promises to Israel are without repentance. Go ahead. Expend the energy.

Seems like you have a problem using the Bible in just about every area except for John 6.
I don't think anyone pressed it upon you to make a judgement regarding whether what Israel is engaged in is a black and white issue with regard to individual actions. In the realm of the flesh, they are soveriegn and have every right to defend themselves and act in a manner that accomplishes self preservation to whatever ends are required. But that is not merely the case. What is happening is happening in fullfillment of prophecy. As such, what God chooses to do is not subject to your approval or that of the church of Rome. Nor is God seeking either. Those who meddle in the affairs of God uninvited tend to find themselves the focus of His divine wrath. That is what drew the question that built this particular discussion.
So what would it be alright to use our Bibles for? Should we just keep it hidden in our churches and in our houses. Does it not have any practical use for us in the situations we face today?
