Its a fascinating topic and one in which I have been watching the discussion closely, although it is getting fairly heated in here. I would like to hear the NC standpoint on this issue. I'm not necessarily a big fan of the "common sense" argument, so I would like to see some other NC viewpoints on the matter.

FYI ... all Christian denominations considered it a sin not long ago. I believe in the 40's ... is that correct father_elijah?

My question is why?? There are those on this board, mainly the NCs, who disagree with the Catholic standpoint, and it is that viewpoint I am seeking. Maybe it can shed some more light on the subject. I'm not saying the Catholic standpoint is wrong, but I want to know if it is a sin or not, and, if so, why (i.e. Scripture)?
