I have read a story of George Washington praying before some battle. He rode into that battle and was supposedly shot (with arrows and bullets) a number of times, yet was not harmed. A soldier returned to the area one day and indeed did find multiple arrows lodged in the surroundings. The story goes on to say that George Washington had holes in his jacket, yet was not harmed.
Does anyone know about the truth of this? I was happy to see it in a middle school American history book.
On Wallbuilders or some similar site they have a book offered called "The Bullet-Proof George Washington." I assume they are referring to that story.
