Thanks for this very interesting post. Belloc was a wonderful apologist and a great wit, but perhaps one of his most enduring things was his book of "Cautionary Tales" for children. They're a little off-the-wall and not all children (or parents) will like them, but I always found them delightful, and so did my kids.

Highly recommended for the reading aloud hour!

Thanks. I'm glad you both enjoyed it. I laughed out loud several times in the second article. What a fascinating and brilliant man. No wonder Elodie loved him. ;)
