… My Muslim Friend

Beyond the bounds of earth and sky
Resides the Great Judge of all who die
He formed the earth and each small child’s hands
And lovingly created each race of man

Each day we live we choose our fate
With acts of love, or schemes of hate
Within the heart we plan and dream
As thoughts form deeds either kind or mean

Each man is born into the earth
And toils for bread and a sense of worth
But few know how their story will end
As they seek shelter from life’s bitter wind

What values, - what truths does your soul possess?
What drives you on to finish the quest?
Religion tries to form and mold
But to who and for what has your soul been sold?

What god do you claim?, - Is he god at all?
Whose script do you follow and quote as law?
Most accept the stories they’ve been told
Never knowing God's great love for their soul

And truth can be very painful to find
When clerics deceive, students are blind
But there’s one who has come, though his story is old
But to know perfect peace, you’ll have to be bold

The story is told in a book called “John”
How God defined love by: ...condemning his son!
A God who tells us to forgive and to love
To serve and protect, - innocent blood

And today he extends his outstretched hand
- Look deep in your heart, …My Muslim Friend
Would the God who gave life to all earthly men,
Require us to kill to impress or please him?

Think long and hard, - be honest with your soul
As you seek for reason, the truth will unfold
Inquire in the eyes of a newborn child
How can we kill, - and be reconciled?

You have but one soul so be not deceived
Receive Christ Jesus, - he’ll set you free!
God sent his own Son, and has forgiven our sin
- THIS GOD, - loves like no other

…My Muslim Friend!!!
