You are right about that being the reason they work so hard to get their dead ancestors, and others babtised, and their temple work done.

She ended up excommunicated from both Mormon church, and the reorganised Mormon church. She had traveled to Utah, and back to live with her sister Emma Smith before leaving the whole thing behind. She, and her son knew more truth than almost anyone. Her son, my great great grandfather was a witness at Joseph Smiths death, and a witness at the trial.
