I have read some Aquinsas and I ~thought~ he was a reason based person.

I'm assuming this is meant to have meaning towards Calvin as well.

You need to remember that Calvin never practiced law. His father determined for him to study for the priesthood initially. When he had some personall issues with his local church and when he saw that there was much demand for lawyers (i.e. better pay), he then changed little Johnny's course study to law.

However, Calvin always held to his love of languages and the classics. His interest was not in law studies.

When Calvin was a young man, his father sent him to school to be trained as a Lawyer ! :>)
