I can't help it if you guys got off-track and don't recognize the Savior any longer. Are you talking to RLDS now?
Oh; my mistake. It would read thus
I can't help it if you guys got off-track and don't recognize the PROPHET any longer.
If you were talking to them....

Says you.
He was a prophet of God, and apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, and all who ignore him do so to their spiritual peril.
You have been warned.

We'll get nowhere continuing this line of argument. We can go back and forth with "I'm right" "No, I'm right" and get nowhere.

What's the point, then, ultimately? Argument for argument's sake seems futile to me.
I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that Christ lives, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church, the ONLY true Church on the earth.
We can argue till the cows come home and I'll not be dissuaded one inch from that knowledge.
Might as well try to persuade me that the sun won't rise tomorrow.

I KNOW that MARCION was a prophet of god!
I KNOW that MOHAMMED was a prophet of god!
I KNOW that MARY BAKER EDDY was a prophet of god!
I KNOW that E. G. WHITE was a prophet of god!
I KNOW that ANNA LEE was a prophet of god!
And hundreds of others make the same claim.
Their is an add in the back of BIBLE ARCHAEOLOGICAL REVIEW by a man claiming to be a prophet of god and claims to receive revelations today.
So how can you PROVE JS was a prophet when these others have just as good of credentials?

So how can you PROVE JS was a prophet when these others have just as good of credentials? I think your question is backward.....
Should it not be,
Since you accept JS as a prophet, why do you NOT accept these others, since their credentials are as valid as his?

13 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptismyea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel. When Helena, the mother of Constantine visited Aliea Capitolina(Jerusalem) she looked for the burial place of Christ. When she had a "burning bosom" experience she declared that to be the place and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built. Now, many say it is the wrong place!
Was the burning bosom experience wrong?

Did she really use that expression "burning bosom" in her talk?
Interesting that was an expression of the saints, and Helena would have been a Pagan!

By the power of the Holy Ghost! That's funny...the same Holy Spirit has me convinced that Joseph Smith was a liar, a heretic, a blasphemer, and a fraud.
My point is that your answer holds no evidential weight in the argument. It's an unsubstantiated and unprovable claim with no logic or scientific proof to back it up.

Actually, Helena was a Christian. She "felt" the spot she picked for the church was correct.
One must be cautious of the term "burning bosom". After some church socials (or store bought chili) I have had the same thing. I've found a little baking soda takes care of it though.

If YOU call their heartburn 'heartburn', comparing it to MEDICAL heartburn that YOU got, then YOU will get 'heartburn' for your efforts: got it?

Yep, It was a lot of fun. The coucil's campground has 3 cabins we stay in. So it wasn't roughing it, but it was close.
One of my fellow leaders brought his arsenal. He did some basic gun saftey, then let the kids shoot the guns.
I think the fathers liked that a whole lot better. Especailly our Pastor. His eyes lit up with he saw the .44.

Our issue isn't with Holy Spirit, it's with blasphemous claims of false illumination. Am I to accept the words of anyone who claims revelation from the Holy Spirit as divine truth? PLEASE tell me you do not expect everyone to be that gullible.
I am convinced by the Holy Spirit that the theology of Mormonism is nothing but lies and deceit, a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you deny that, you are denying the Holy Spirit :) See my point?

Hee hee!
Did you see the article in the paper yesterday about the
50 caliber handgun some manufacturer is bringing out?

Cabin, yes. Motel, no.
Real fireplace in the middle for heat.
Luxury of running water and a stove, but that's about it.
Missed that article.
