I know of several Baptist congregations that have this policy. In any case, all would accept that it is within the right of the congregation to make such a rule, since the congregation is the ultimate church authority. But every orgabnizatioin has the inherent right to refuse benefits to those who do not qualify. What this priest is doing is to deny the authority of the universal Church.

I grew up in a Baptist church that had totally open communion.
