Ron Paul Money Bomb Exploding ($1 million @ 9:30am)
USAdaily ^ | 11/5/07 | Larry Fester

Posted on 11/05/2007 7:26:30 AM PST by traviskicks

Ron Paul's presidential campaign is getting cash infusion today from grass roots activists on the internet. The activists plan to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, boosting the campaign by 10 million dollars in a day.

Whether the goal of 10 million dollars in a day is achieved remains to be seen. The campaign as of 10 PM Sunday night had risen just under 2.8 million for the quarter.

As of Monday, 9:30 AM Eastern time, Paul’s campaign has risen over a million dollars bringing the total to over 4.1 million for the quarter.

Paul’s campaign raised over 5 million in the third quarter and had over 5 million cash on hand at the start of this quarter.

The one day fund raising push is already a success and it hasn’t shown any signs of losing momentum. Paul’s campaign had nothing to do with the grass roots effort which makes it even more impressive.

Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war and says he will bring the troops home immediately. Paul seeks to eliminate federal income taxes and wants to reform the monetary system by authorizing competing currencies backed by gold and silver.

Paul also voted against the Patriot Act and has been an outspoken defender of the Bill of Rights.

Jim, I wanted to let you know usmc_izzy has apparently been banned for his post #171. I don’t think this post violated any forum rules, far from it, I thought it was an outstanding post from one of our active duty military who has served two terms in Iraq. Therefore, unless there is other information we are unaware of, I am betting his banning was a mistake, and wanted to bring it to your attention.

thanks!

I’ve cced the people who responded to his post on this thread as I’ve been getting some freepmails.

“Not sure if yours was a rhetorical question, but the simple, short answer is; POWER.”

I think it is more greed and self-interest.

I love you! Thanks for your kind words.

I don’t know if Ron Paul will go all the way, but his campaign is going to have some effect in bringing our party back to its roots. Imagine that — a presidential candidate who respects the Constitution.

May the Bushes be damned for what they have done to my party!

The greatest threat to our nation isn't isolationism, it's interventionism.

Most of our modern conflicts have been due to the meddling of the globalists who profit from financing wars. For instance, the trouble we're facing in Iran right now, can be traced back to Jimmy Carter's meddling.

Your assertion that isolationism weakens our defense is illogical. How does not spreading your military all over the world weaken it? How would staying out of the affairs of the middle east increase the threat? How does opening the borders to not only illegals, but middle easterners reduce the threat of terrorism? How do "Rules of engagement" help keep our military strong? Those are the policies that the globalists have followed and you see how unsuccessful they've been at keeping us safe. Yet, you oppose Ron Paul because he doesn't promise more of the same?

Paul raised 4.2 million dollars yesterday. I pray and hope that people that gave him their money, get all their friends to contribute and support him as a third party candidate. Hillary at best gets 50% of the vote. with a true-blue anti-war candidate in the field, she might only get 40% of the vote. That doesn’t meant the gop nominee will win. If Guiliani is the nominee I suspect a pro-life candidate will run as a third party, probably handing hillary the white house.

Thanks, Designer, for your response to my question.

Here’s how I view things: One important way to lastingly correct the course this country is taking is for every parent to pull the kids from public schools immediately.

While electing someone like Ron Paul is an intelligent, beneficial thing to do, we really fool ourselves if we support Ron Paul, but leave our kids in public schools that are rapidly turning them into good little socialist robots.

Socialist robots get rid of leaders who won’t give them freebies.

If you think a few minutes each evening and an hour on Sunday is going to keep your child a real American, think again. 85% of Christian kids are losing their faith by the time they graduate high school. Only 2% of homeschooled kids make that kind of decision.

That means 98% of homeschooled kids are keeping their faith, along with excelling academically and socially. And if you’re voting for Ron Paul, keep in mind that he supports your freedom to home educate. It’s time to exit the public schools.

It’s time to exit public schools, time to disband the department of education. Reagan wanted to do it in 1981, unfortunately could not.

"..every parent to pull the kids from public schools immediately."

Yes, I absolutely agree, but the reality is not everyone will do that.

Your idea is a fine idea, but remember that we have a lot of "correcting" to do, the issue of public "education" being one of them.

Huckabee adds nothing to the ticket, except for big-government nanny-statism & open borders, and he has ethics problems.
The best that might be said of him is that he doesn't seem to be in bed with the CFR/Trilateral guys.

How wonderful it is to see some old time FReepers (as well as new folks) sticking up for the good Doctor. Please add me to your list, OP.

Regards

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the target for November 5th supposed to be $10 million?

Paul's campaign had nothing to do with the Money Bomb, it was a goal set by the grassroots.

Thanks for the ping.

This was all the buzz at work today and I have some colleagues who would like to know more. They are Rs and can vote in the AZ primary, and here and there read FR.

What would be some good links to give them? I’ve been very impressed when I’ve seen Dr. Paul speaking on C-Span or other places where he is not drowned out by Hannity or someone. But I haven’t recorded anything...

Thanks in advance, GW!

Hmmm...I don't recall a "Greatest Hits Of Ron Paul" compilation. Not that one doesn't exist; I just haven't seen it.

You could look through some of the better threads in FR's own RLC-Caucus section where a lot of RP stuff is stored.

Travis might have such a list. He's very resourceful.

Wanna hear something cool? On my way home from town today, I was driving down the main highway and, as I drove by a lake turnoff where a 6'x10' billboard had stood for years, usually with an ad for the local marina on it, two guys were out there. They were stenciling up a Ron Paul sign.

I honked like crazy. Then I went down the highway, turned around and went back to talk to them. I think they got fired up from the $4.2M day yesterday. They're locals but working with the Meetup that is about 50 miles from me. A member of the local Meetup has an uncle who owns a huge parcel of prime land at a major intersection of state highways so we're probably going to do a billboard there. They said they're having a Meetup on 11/11. I think I'll go.

Wow, too cool!! I’m honking in support of the bumper stickers I see in town, and there are quite a few signs up already (and not for anyone else). The extreme nastiness here about and against RP made me curious several months ago - now I’m sold and want to go out and do more.

Thanks for the help on info for RP newbies!

I think OPie is on vacation right now. It's kind of mysterious.

You're on the list and should have a fresh ping to another thread.

It's really astonishing to see this here in my state. We're an all-Red state but actually very non-political as many of the rural states are. To see big signs six months before the primary is almost unheard of. It just doesn't happen. Ever.

After yesterday's shock of making it to $7M for Q4, you could have knocked me over with a feather.

This clip came out today, Ron Paul on Tucker Carlson:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LYp7_fCyZo

I think it is a great summation of what happened yesterday and also talks about Paul’s major positions.

But if people want in depth info on Ron Paul, I’d recommend one of the following:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul

http://www.clubforgrowth.org/2007/10/ron_pauls_record_on_economic_i.php

You could also look through the link in my tag line for my personel RP collections and comments, but I’ve found people often support him for very different reasons, so it is not a one size fits all! Hope this helps!

Sort of karmic isn't it, the slanders, namecalling, etc.. turned out to have the opposite effect of their intentions. Just like the efforts of our government in domestic or foreign policy, IMO. :)
