Right, like you said it was your own dam fault,. But you still
wished they had been banned to protect you from your self.
I have smoked at least 68 of my 81 years and I still happen to
enjoy it.
I know of very few people who smokes or not that don’t have
heart trouble at my age.
OR COPD! My husband was a smoker for 40 yrs, and is 24/7 on Oxygen, and other cigarette illnesses include RA, Crohns, and Prostate issues....all of which he also has. His last 10 years have been miserable, and he is confined to home 95% of the time, except for doctor appointments. I, too, have been confined to home at times, and I did NOT smoke!
I have no resentment to taking care of my husband as he is good man, caring, kind, and grateful. It does however show that ‘choices have consequences’. I am reminded of that COMMERCIAL AD on TV about guy whose addiction drug him across the floor, outside, to smoke! So true! I would never eant anything to have that kind of control over me, or my behavior. I wish you well, and it is never to late to quit!
My point is this, there is NOTHING GOOD about smoking, it is worse than a drug addiction. However worse is the cost of drugs with terrible side effects, and the example it sets is children/grandchildren are learning a bad habit.
Do I want cigarettes banned? Fine, but, I do not believe government can control morality/religion or other habits like drugs/alcohol/perversions...people will do whatever they can to damage themselves! It is a spiritual issue!
All those things are Sad, but that is my take on it!
