Ha! My son just told me about this, and I had to see for myself!

After reading the story, I saw the explanation in the very last sentence of the article.

"The Army's official adoption date of the Stetson will be April Fool's Day, 2012."

I'm still PO'ed that the Army (Secretary?) took the Rangers' black beret and gave it to every swinging d**k and t*t in the entire branch. A beret meant elite. I liked the "piss-cutters" for the regular Army. This is from an ex-aviation swabby who had to wear that goofy "dixie-cup" when not in working dungerees with a ballcap cover.

That said, I do like the new blue digital Navy working uniform with the pointed ball-cap. But the Navy's other uniforms still require the silly white cup on the head. Yes, I like tradition, but come on, a bowl on the head?
