Thank you very much, Ma'am! I must tell you that I have the highest regard for our Navy Nurses. They taught me the rudiments in Corps School. On the wards, I was most fortunate to serve with a host of dedicated, compassionate and highly professional Nurses. One of them, LCDR Daisy Herrington, had just returned from a tour at 1st Med in Danang when she took over as our Ward Nurse on the Surgical Ward at USNH Quantico - she was an outstanding nurse and officer. I owe a lot to her and to so many others.

Dear Mag,
Please don’t diminish your service by using the word “only”. What you’ve done is an invaluable selfless service. While it may not considered to be heroic, it is. I’m a retired SKCS and supply doesn’t seem heroic I’M proud I was able to help our warriors in any way I could!

Mag... Your service was just as important as any other MOS in all of the services. Please know that...

The comfort and care you provided was more than just medical technique and technology. It was the human element, as well, that you supplied each time you interacted with a patient that was needed for them to recover. It takes a lot to see the injured each day and to keep moving forward, to maintain peace of mind so that you can continue to serve others. Thank you for all you did.
