CLEVER, MO—May 16, 2014—The Silver Star Families of America (SSFOA) has called upon the Department of Veterans Affairs to begin the process of inspecting all its medical centers to determine if they have established timeframes for providing medical services/care to veterans and whether these procedures are being followed.

A non-profit based out of Clever, Mo., the SSFOA’s primary mission is to support and recognize veterans who are wounded, injured, or have acquired an illness related to their service in a combat zone—regardless of service branch or military conflict.

Last month, after sources revealed that the Phoenix VA maintained a secret ‘wait list,’ the VA has fallen under greater scrutiny, resulting in allegations that delays in medical appointments and treatment have led to the unncecesary deaths of several veterans. “Cooking the books on veterans’ ‘wait times’ is not only a tragedy, but anyone involved at every one of the VA Medical Centers should face immediate and serious consequences for their deplorable actions,” said Steve Newton, CEO and founder of the SSFOA.

“Often times my fellow veterans must drive for hours just to receive medical care through the VA; however, to delay critical medical appointments which then results in wait times that could be a matter of life and death for our nation’s most ill veterans—that is simply unacceptable” Newton added.

The SSFOA plans to present its complaints to Congress in an effort to ensure veterans do not suffer because of deliberate and calculated delays in the provision of treatment.

A lot of my fellow veterans have dealt with this type of treatment from the VA “system”.

It’s the same way with claims too.

We joke with one another that it seems like they are trying to delay things long enough for us to die off and the problem will go away.

I’ve met General Shinseki a few times. First Vietnam veteran appointed to a Cabinet position. A nice enough guy but like many top ranking officers today, a career politician.

I hope something will come of all this - but I’ve seen it get swept under the carpet before, so I will wait to see it before I believe it.

Older vets tend to lean Republican/Conservative, so it makes sense for the Libs to want to kill them off.

You didn't think the IRS was the only tool at their disposal did you?

Sad but true.
However if the millenials get uneasy over grandma/grandpa’s untimely demise, I expect the regime to start sending out Groupons for student loan forgiveness.

Surely they can’t be THAT cruel. Can they? Never mind. I just answered my own question.
