MCRGO raffling off two pistols to support the CCW law fight
Submitted on: September 5, 2001
Many of our members were upset during the last MCRGO annual membership meeting when the tickets for the pistol raffle sold out so quick. Well if you missed out on tickets or if you didn't win, here's your chance to try again.
MCRGO is raffling off two new pistols. One is a Springfield Armory 1911A1 .45 Automatic and the second is a Ruger MkII .22lr target pistol. Tickets can be obtained at most MCRGO events this coming month or by mail by sending a check to MCRGO Raffle, 409 W. Ionia, Lansing, MI 48933. Tickets are $5.00 each and you can buy as many as you like. Please specify which pistol you would like tickets for because both are being drawn for seperately. If you mail a request for tickets you can buy tickets for one or both pistols but please order at least four.
Drawing will be held October 10th here at the office and the winning tickets will be promptly posted.

It's for a good cause. We may still face a ballot initative, not to mention more court fights so we need all the help we can get. The drawing will be in Lansing.

Anyone want to win a gun?

Thanks for the flag, my check will be in the mail and hopefully one or both of those beauties will belong to me...

Two questions:
1) How is this handled for an out-of state (i.e. gun-friendly WV) winner? Non-gun-friendly state such as MD?
2) How can you/we convince Jim Robinson and team to do something similar for a FReeRepublic fundraiser??

I'm not sure. I THINK that pistols must be transferred through an FFL to an FFL in the other state. Don't hold me to that.

Any Freeper that lives outside of Michigan and can legally own a pistol, can order tickets. If you win, the Michigan group will notify you, they will probably ask for the name, address, and telephone # of your local gun shop so they will be able to get a copy of their FFL.
The gun shop will send a signed copy of their license to the dudes in Michigan, the said dudes will send the gun to the gun shop.
As to who will pay for UPS or FedEx fees is up to the Michigan group. There will probably be a $20 fee from the gun dealer for providing the transfer service.
As for myself, I'm sending $20 for 2 chances on each of them, a copy of my CCW, plus the name address and phone number of my local gun shop. Good Luck in the drawing.

Great idea, but I'm disappointed to see that one of the guns is a Ruger. Bill Ruger has always been a supporter of any gun-law "compromise" that would benefit him personally.
No morals, no principles.
He's a staunch supporter of the 10-round magazine.
P*ss on him and his products.

Deadline for raffle, please?
To: Mercuria
Drawing is October 10th.

If I remember right, these are all donated guns. None of the money goes to Bill Ruger here. All of the money goes to MCRGO and our fight to keep Conceal carry, and our future battles(such as removing 'gun free zones' and the transportation Bill which treats handguns the same as a longgun in cars).
