I was not angry since I came to France
Until this instant.
Take a trumpet, herald;
Ride thou unto the horsemen on yonder hill;
If they will fight with us, bid them come down
Or void the field;
They do offend our sight.
If they'll do neither, we will come to them
And make them skirr away as swift as stones
Enforced from the old Assyrian slings;
Besides, we'll cut the throats of those we have,
And not a man of them shall we take
That shall taste our mercy.
Go and tell them so.
Henry V, Act IV, scene vii

Thank you for the repost, prognostigaator.
All day I've been at a loss for words, so I sought out Shakespeare to give voice to my anger.
I see you picked up on the lines that I found most telling.

1 Samuel 11
- 1
- Nahash the Ammonite went up and besieged Jabesh Gilead. And all the men of Jabesh said to him, "Make a treaty with us, and we will be subject to you."
- 2
- But Nahash the Ammonite replied, "I will make a treaty with you only on the condition that I gouge out the right eye of every one of you and so bring disgrace on all Israel."
- 3
- The elders of Jabesh said to him, "Give us seven days so we can send messengers throughout Israel; if no one comes to rescue us, we will surrender to you."
- 4
- When the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and reported these terms to the people, they all wept aloud.
- 5
- Just then Saul was returning from the fields, behind his oxen, and he asked, "What is wrong with the people? Why are they weeping?" Then they repeated to him what the men of Jabesh had said.
- 6
- When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came upon him in power, and he burned with anger.
- 7
- He took a pair of oxen, cut them into pieces, and sent the pieces by messengers throughout Israel, proclaiming, "This is what will be done to the oxen of anyone who does not follow Saul and Samuel." Then the terror of the LORD fell on the people, and they turned out as one man.
- 8
- When Saul mustered them at Bezek, the men of Israel numbered three hundred thousand and the men of Judah thirty thousand.
- 9
- They told the messengers who had come, "Say to the men of Jabesh Gilead, `By the time the sun is hot tomorrow, you will be delivered.'" When the messengers went and reported this to the men of Jabesh, they were elated.
- 10
- They said to the Ammonites, "Tomorrow we will surrender to you, and you can do to us whatever seems good to you."
- 11
- The next day Saul separated his men into three divisions; during the last watch of the night they broke into the camp of the Ammonites and slaughtered them until the heat of the day. Those who survived were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.
- 12
- The people then said to Samuel, "Who was it that asked, `Shall Saul reign over us?' Bring these men to us and we will put them to death."
- 13
- But Saul said, "No one shall be put to death today, for this day the LORD has rescued Israel."

Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth. - PSALM 58

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
Never begins it, never, but once engaged...
Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage
Don't tread on me
So be it
Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it
Settle the score
Don't tread on me

From Wm. J . Buckley---
"Our challenge is in two parts, the first being the elimination of bin Laden.
The speech by President Bush had the singular feature of advising the world that the United States would deal equally with those who perform acts of terrorism and "those who harbor them." That has to mean, most directly, the Taliban government in Afghanistan.
It is hardly obvious what it is we are in a position to do.
But our movement against Taliban has to come quickly, and has to be viewed as massive and irreconcilable.
It must end in the end of the life of Osama bin Laden."

Worth a BUMP. Amazing that some people think The Bard is not worth teaching, Dead White Male, you know. How about this?
ANTONY
O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest man
That ever lived in the tide of times.
Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,--
Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue--
A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

"Gentle Will's" plays and sonnets cover the spectrum of nearly every human emotion and drive..
His concept of reality both dramatic and humorous did not escape his pen.
A good find and appropriate to the current situation.

We just told the government of Pakistan...I think they heard us.
They agreed to no oil, no supplies , no formally restricted airspace to support the Taliban.
The camel dung has hit the fan for bin Laden and his irrational fanatics.
