WETHERSFIELD - On the edge of a verdant town green, in a 100-year-old house where Richard Keane's five handsome boys grew up, this tragedy has come home.

Dick Keane is gone.

But this tightly bound Irish American family will not give in. They are papering New York with fliers - "Have you seen this man?'' - while calling every hot line they can find. Family members have traveled to New York, visiting hospitals, handing wallet-size cards with Keane's picture to rescue workers.

I've been in denial since I was first told that Dick was missing two days ago. I just didn't want to believe it. This morning, the Hartford Courant had this story on the front page just under the fold. I realize bandwidth is at a premium, so please excuse my lengthy post. If need be, please feel free to edit it as necessary. It is only a matter of time until we have all been touched in one way or another by this tragedy.

Family always came first with Dick. I've known him and his sons for a long time. He was my youth league basketball coach when I was a kid. He was greatly involved in the community and coached sports for all of his kids so you can imagine the number of lives he touched.

He had an 8:30 meeting on the 99th floor of the 2nd tower. After the first one was hit, he called home to say everything was ok. They had gotten notification that the tower they were in was safe, that they were safer inside, and not to evacuate. Well, we all know what happened.

It would be very much like him to be helping out, but it is very unlike him to not call his family and say he was ok. Things don't look good, but there is always a glimmer of hope until a body is found. Please pray for his family. It is large, faithful, and strong but could use any and all help to get them through this matter.

Thanks for all the prayers....a friend of my daughter is lost....he was near the top of the first tower to be struck. Just a young twenty-something on his first job. The hopes and dreams of America shattered by this hatred of our country. We must live on for them all.......PRAY

Prayers being sent continuously for this man, his family and all affected by this horror.

Father, hear our prayers! Let all that are still alive be found, healed of their injuries and reunited with their loved ones! Help our rescuers, Dear Lord...lend Your aid and comfort to any still alive under the rubble and swiftly guide our rescuers to them. Let not one person remain unattended! Thank You Father! In Jesus' name...Amen!
