> Dear XXXX,
>
> Here is today's Sixty Second Activist ACTION ITEM:
>
> ISSUE: According to the Media Research Center
> (www.mediaresearch.org), major media, including the
> Washington Post and ABC News, have launched a full-scale
> spin war against President Bush following the attack on
> our nation.
>
> Newsmax.com reports that already, liberal media outlets
> have been raising questions about President Bush's
> taking a circuitous route back to Washington from
> Florida after being informed of Tuesday's terrorism.
>
> Liberal columnist Mary McGrory, in Thursday's Washington
> Post, stated that George W. Bush "could not find the
> beat... He allowed himself to be hauled about the country
> like a fugitive to bunkers at Air Force bases in
> Louisiana and Nebraska." She proclaimed that Bush
> "flunked" this country's test: "he says he believes in
> education and he has three years to take a makeup exam
> in leadership."
>
> In an exchange on ABC TV between correspondent Claire
> Shipman and anchor Peter Jennings on Wednesday night,
> Shipman implied that the White House is "eager" to put
> forth the report that the White House and Air Force One
> were targeted in order to divert attention from President
> Bush's "spend[ing] his day yesterday flying around the
> country instead of coming straight back to Washington."
> Jennings noted "we're all pretty skeptical and cynical
> about Washington."
>
> Tom Brokaw, interviewing Gen. Schwarzkopf, implied that
> the Bush administration was negligent in not getting
> actively involved in the Mideast peace process while
> all the violence was going on.
>
> And Dan Rather introduced President Bush before he
> addressed the nation in the middle of this emergency by
> saying, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still
> our president."
>
> There are others as well: Newsweek's Howard Fineman
> moaned about Bush's flight on Air Force One and
> criticized him for not winning the popular vote; Newsday's
> Ellis Henican, asking if we "have a president too nervous
> to work live"; Maureen Dowd at the NY Times, complaining
> that reporters "weren't sure where the president was";
> and ABC's Mark Halperin insisted that, if reporters aren't
> informed of every little detail of this war, they aren't
> "likely - nor should they be expected - to show such
> deference for long."
>
> As Newsmax.com stated, "even in time of crisis when
> Americans are rallying around the President of the United
> States, cheap-shot politics seems to live on in some
> quarters."
>
> ACTION ITEM: Patriotic Americans are supporting President
> Bush ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. It's time we let the liberal
> media and their talking heads know that.
>
> Contact the major media outlets NOW and let them know how
> outraged we are that they would engage in such cheap-shot
> politics against the leader of the free world, at a time
> when we need to stand by his leadership. You can email

>
> Comments on ABC, CBS, NBC, in the Washington Post, Newsweek,
> Newsday and others venting vile anti-Bush hatred are
> despicable. I will turn the channel and refuse to buy such
> garbage until "reporters" there change their tune and back
> President Bush as he leads our nation against the cowards who

[sample letter]
We've had enough.
Cheap shots and criticisms against the President of our country, broadcast by your anchors in the wake of national tragedy is indecent, uncaring, and un-American and will not be tolerated by our family. You have lost us as your audience...permanently.
Sincerely yours,
[your name]

Perhaps the FBI should start interviewing these newspeople about what they know. They seem almost disappointed that the President wasn't shot out of the sky.

Emailed to ABC:
I'm at work and can only get ABC on our lunch room TV. On the wall above the TV, I've posted large recent quotes from Peter Jennings. It's time that people woke up to Jennings' and ABC's complicity and overt propagandizing for the eight years of the Clinton regime. I don't expect Jennings to chronicle the abuses to our military and intelligence operations by Clinton, or to detail Hillary's ties to terrorist front groups. I know that he and you will continue bashing the President and conservatives.
You won't change anything. But the American people are starting to see you for what you are. Keep it up. It's about time.

Go to Salon.com and read Manning's report on Slick Willy going to New York. He states New Yorkers were rushing to see Bill, saying "We love you", "We wish you were the president", etc. My question is "Are New Yorkers stupid?". Or have they been brainwashed by the New York media? I have been so deeply impressed by the rescue efforts, the true compassion for the families, the patriotism shown by these Americans. But then I see billy smiling for the tv cameras, hugging every women he can, hillary claiming credit for everything being done, and then to be told the New Yorkers believe them and love them and want them to be their leaders. My God. Don't they realize these two individuals had the POWER for eight years to destroy the people who have killed 5,000 of their neighbors and did NOTHING except blow up some tents and a drug factory? Unfortunately at times I have the feeling they are getting what they deserve, a similar emotion I feel against the civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. How sad.

these media types despise the flag waving patriotism we are seeing now.. they will not be able to contain their contempt and people will see them for what they really are

Let's also spread our wrath by contacting Congressman Richard Neal (202) 225-5601 or Martin Meehan (202)225-3411 (send a fax to avoid the constant busy signal)(202) 226-0771, expressing our disgust over their partisan rhetoric regarding George W. Bush's leadership thus far.

If the WAR was declared, these bastards could be jailed as TRAITORS. In wartime they are either FOR the country or AGAINST the Country. A POX on all the traitorous scum.
To: ProudFossil~all
The clintons & their enablers did more harm to our national security, and the fabric of civil society, than the wildest dreams of the old Soviet Union ever could.
And America re-elected the slugs!
Check Alamo-Girl's website ( link on the FR front page ) for more evidence & documents than you can imagine. If we had *real* reporters, instead of shills, they would have publicized this, and the clintons would be a footnote in history!

The bulk of the shots over the last 24 hours have been comparisons of GWB to Guiliani. We need a solid reply to these comparisons outside of the obvious, "Bush is President of the US and Rudy is a Mayor."
Granted, there is no comparison to those of us who are conservative. It is absolutely ludicrous to think that these terrorists would target Rudy equally or in priority over Bush.
That is not the point for these "sicko"-phants. The actions taken by Rudy *were* more direct but his safety was never in question. Bush's circuitous return to DC was logical.
How do we counter this "new" Demo-talking-point?
To: backhoe
I actually hope the media contintues its assault on Bush. Eventually, it will dawn on most Americans how un-American the "mainstream" media really are. Brokejaw, Jennings, and Blather really do deserve Cuba.
To: ProudFossil
Yes, I can see it now...
As Manning takes notes, his photo assistant (coincidentally, a resident of NY) runs up to Klinton and says, "I wish you were president!". The intern (also a NY resident) that accompanies Mr. Manning (and is being paid poverty wages by Salon) runs up to the Klintoon and says, "I love you!" (possibly snapping her thong in his direction).
BINGO! A story is born...
developing?

Eventually, it will dawn on most Americans how un-American the "mainstream" media really areI think- & hope- you are right. Fingers crossed....
