These comments appeared on afghanvoice.com. I don't necessarily agree with all the author's points. But they do provide us with a different point of a view -- an Afghan (not Taliban) point of view.

Afghans are descendants of Aryans, Turks, Macedonians, and Mongols who resided in Central Asia.
Now back to my thoughts about your posting:
Afghanistan has been in a constant state of war for 23 years.
After Soviets retreated and withdrew from Afghanistan, America's foreign policy to our country left with it.
USA and Afghanistan strained the Soviet Power until finally the following year it collapsed into itself.
USA left our country and left behind 3 BILLION dollars worth of Arms, 5 Million Refugees, the most mines in the world, and the man that cowardly destroyed the trade center and attacked the Pentagon. Osama Bin Laden.
ARAB countries threw their CRIMINALS into our country and never allowed them back in. One of them being the disowned son of a wealthy Arab, Osama Bin Laden.
Afghanistan saw ARAB countries, IRAN, RUSSIA, and PAKISTAN try to pull the strings in our country after the Soviet puppet government collapsed. Each country having their own political intentions in Afghanistan. None of them so far have succeeded to take over the whole of the country.
This led to a Civil War that killed 30,000 INNOCENT People.
During this infighting, US never even blinked at the fact that these Arabs and Pakistanis were created Terrorist camps in our country thanks to the civil war. NO country wanted them and US thought they were a MINOR threat!
Then fully supported, FINANCED, and BACKED by PAKISTAN, and with AMERICA'S BLESSING, the Taleban were created.
They brought an extremist form of Islam that is FOREIGN to our land. It came from that craphole across the border, Pakistan and from dirty camel humping Arab countries.
Pakistan and ARAB countries SUPPORT the Taleban. America now denounces them, the rest of the world now denounces them. They took over 90% of Afghanistan thanks to PAKISTANI support and US's ignorance.
NO Afghan considers them true Muslims or Afghans. They are dirty Pakis that have destroyed our nation even more, destroyed our cultural heritage and tried ERASING our history so Filthistan (Pakistan) could build a friend in us. We have always hated Pakistan since it's creation by British Puppets. They want a friend so they can use us to fight their dirty war against India in Kashmir.
Osama Bin Laden is a COWARD now and was THEN. He never even fired a SINGLE shot in the Afghan war against the Communists. It was 1 MILLION of our people who died, men, women and children at the hands of the Soviets. Maybe only 3 or 4 Arab volunteers! And Osama was not one of them!
Afghans have been fighting the Taleban since 1993 when they were created by Pakistan.
If you saw the news on 9-11, Kabul was BOMBED by the ANTI-Taleban Afghan Northern Alliance whos own Leader was attacked by two ARAB terrorists who put a bomb in a video camera 2 days before the tragedy in the US.
When US bombed installations in Afghanistan in response to the Embassy Bombings a couple years back, it was the Afghans who asked USA to go in and take Osama Bin Laden OUT of our country. USA said no and put more sanctions instead!
They have been asking this since the bombings and now look what happenned?
Finally after 10 years of denial by the US, the attack came to their court. Trade Centers are rubble, Pentagon has been scarred, and America's rose colored glasses, pride, was broken. This is what you get for starting something you never finish.
He has installations ALL OVER THE WORLD. Americans, Arabs, Asians, you name it he's got them under his organization. Remember that if you take Osama, there will always be a #2, and a #3, and so on. I want more than anyone to have him and his whole organization eradicated. But it will take more than taking the myth that is Osama.
Taking him will not solve anything because the true perpetrators are out there somewhere using his money. He is said to have 100 million dollar war chest and over a billion dollars un accounted for by wealthy Arabs who support him.
Go into Afghanistan if you like, but see what you find. You will see what 23 years of war have done to the country. Go ahead and bomb it, people will not even flinch. Go ahead and nuke it if you want as well. You will be nuking rubble.
70+ Cruise Missiles ($1.5 Million dollars each) destroyed Mud houses that were rebuilt the next week!
Finding Osama in Afghanistan is hard enough. If you want to hit him where it hurts, stop all the extremist dumps in Pakistan that are creating his next generation of followers and the Taleban. Go after these groups, and his numbers will dwindle.
The countries you should really watch out for are the following:
China, Arab countries and Pakistan. They are patting your shoulder with one hand , and stabbing you in the back with the other!
Remember it was Arabs like Osama Bin Laden who destroyed our trade center and Pentagon, and it was a Paki national that killed CIA agents a few years back.
Name one Afghan who ever bombed any US cities, installations, etc?
Arabs denounce this, but it is these same Arabs who were clapping and cheering when the terrorists striked, AND are giving their oil money to finance Osama's plans!
Pakis denounced this but they are recruiting the next generation of extremists to hijack planes, create Taleban crazed lunatics, and bring instability in my own country, Afghanistan.
Everyone from Chechnya, N. Korea, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Phillipines, Pakistan, China are here fighting for a stupid Jihad against anything and everything.
Afghans just want Peace.
Remember that if you do manage to take him out, we will be cheering. If you take the Taleban out, we will also be cheering. If you attack our innocent civilians, you will have an enemy for life. Many Afghans are your friends, take out the Taleban species, you will get help from us to take out Osama.
No one knows the terrain better than us. We kicked out Alexander the Great's armies, we killed Genghis Khan's grandson, We killed 16,000 British Troops in one day during the First Anglo-Afghan War, 20,000 more in the next wars. We bloodied the nose of the Red Bear (Soviet Union) by creating their Vietnam, and you have our support to kick these Camel Arabs back to the deserts from which they came from.
An Enemy of our Enemy is a Friend.
Help us kick the Paki-Taleban out, we will help kick Osama and his 10,000 Arab and Paki Soliders OUT of our country where you can bring them to justice or slaughter them like the pigs they are.

I saw these comments posted on another site (a Miami Hurricanes website, of all things!) and thought they might be of interest to my fellow Freepers. They give us the perspective of an Afghan (not a Taliban). Many of these people would cheer the United States if it rid their country of the dictatorial extremists now running their country.

I just hope that when we strike Afghanistan, which we surely will, that we concentrate on the Taliban and the terrorists and their sanctuaries. The average Afghan -- especially the women -- hate the Taliban regime. We should avoid any action that turns them against us. Let's get the bad guys.
