Clear Channel was going to have a nationwide contest this week to give away $100,000.00 dollars to one of their radio station listeners. They have instead decided to give the full $100,000.00 to the relief fund. They have made it easy to donate. Help if you can. Thanks

Clear Channel owns around 600 radio stations and they just bought out SFX entertainment. A very good company with a good reputation. It's good to see the entertainment industry getting involved.

They also own Premiere Radio Networks (Rush, Dr. Laura, Michael Reagan, and a few others).

To: steveegg, sidebar monitors, Jim Robinson,
Funny, 59 threads to raise FR funds are allowed in breaking news. This one gets pulled. Now I'm disgusted, FR is a joke anymore. One freaking thread to raise funds for the dead and injured is not allowed. I just heard about this Relief Fund on my radio and thought it was a good idea to share it with others. Guess I thought wrong. By FreeRepublic, so freaking long.

For crying out loud; this shouldn't have been pulled from Breaking News and buried in Front Page. FR doesn't have a way to directly send money to the victims of the attacks, and the last I checked, this was the only thread active in the sidebars that suggested that we help out there. I know I had enough money to send to both FR and the relief effort.

Thank you, the silence was deafening. Whoever made this decision should be relieved of their duties. JMHO!

Thank you very much for returning this to breaking news. This is much more important than so many of the threads we are seeing.

Guess you have one less name in the unknown Sidebar Moderator hopper. For the record, I don't make a whole lot of money, but I was able to donate a tidy sum to both FR and
the Red Cross.
Perhaps if you reposted with more sites to donate than just Clear Channel (and even Red Cross), the Sidebar Moderator will let it stick in Breaking until other breaking stuff pushes it off. Indeed, Yahoo has the Red Cross, the NY Firefighters' fund, Salvation Army and the United Way on their home page.

Good idea, I'll go look for some links and add them here.

I'll be sending a donation to the American Red Cross. My employer, SBC is matching dollar for dollar every employee donation with no cap. We are choosing the Red Cross because they will be on the front lines, helping our military families in the coming war.
May God bless all who send their money to help those in need.

Amen, and thanks.

Funny, 59 threads to raise FR funds are allowed in breaking news. This one gets pulled. If you think that's the only travesty that's been foisted upon FR by the new moderating brownshirts, you are sadly mistaken.
