Dan Rather changing his stripes?
Posted on 09/17/2001 9:07:30 PM PDT by texlok
Watching Dan Rather on David Letterman, and for the first time, I've heard a network anchor lay it down totally, he flat out said these radicals hate us and want to see us dead. He mentioned how the nuts were celebrating. I am shocked to find a network anchor to say the radicals totally hate us, they are flat out evil, and they would love to see us dead.
He also mentioned how Sadam would like to see himself leading an army into Israel, and how much Sadam hates us and how he and the other radicals wake up each morning just hating us.
Dan Rather just partially redeemed himself in my eyes. Too bad it's on David Letterman, and not the network. He also broke down several times talking about the singing of God Bless America.

Could not believe it when Rather lost it. He choked up and grabbed Letterman's hand. A very interesting moment on TV.

Shocked, just shocked. I never watch this show. Can't sleep tonight and am watching for FIRST time and this is what I saw too. Will wonders never cease?

Dan Rather just partially redeemed himself in my eyes. Blather is looking for an excuse to empower the UN with global police authority.
He's part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I just saw that on David Letterman also, it seems that Rather may have a soul after all.
I believe this horrific thing has changed us all. It is a shame that it took 5,000 lives to bring America together.

He also mentioned that it is prudent that the administration is biding it's time and doing things the right way and getting their ducks in a row rather than a couple of feel good quick strikes.
He repeatedly complimented President Bush and his cabinet.
I'm stunned to hear a network anchor say all of this.
Question for anybody - did Dan Rather loose or know somebody in the blast? I just can't fathom how he could totally reverse himself from Republican bashing and the PC attitude that many of the networks have.

This extreme incident was too much for even our leftists. It strayed outside their tolerance zone. This is what brings coalitions together - the fear of a common enemy. This is only temporary folks. The left will take a break and come back stronger than ever is my prediction. they will let GW have it for a while (don't want to sound antipatriotic) and wait for a blunder to capitalize on next year.

Perhaps Rather is feeling remorse for capitalizing on his interview with bin Laden?

Now if he would just admit his own duplicity in all this, undermining everything American for the past 35 years, from Viet Nam to NYC, by siding with the DNC and the rest of the radical Marxists that have weakened our morality and our resolve so much that not only does the third world now fully believe that it can completely destroy us, but has begun the final offensive.

If Rather's change of heart is for real he will be quickly replaced.
To: texlok
He also said something to the effect of Bush is our president and if he wants me to go, all he has to do is tell me where to line up.

i'm not buying til i see it with my own eyes. maybe dan is afraid islam will take over the world before his beloved world communism. btw, walter cronkite is a world federalist pigdog.

Rather is, above all else, an actor. This new war will mean tons of ratings for SeeBS. Go ahead. Call me a cynic. But, mark my words: When this mostly clandestine war fails to yield the video clips and sound bites, Rather will change his tune in a heartbeat.
To: texlok
Don't get all excited.
Dan stuck his finger in the air, was amazed at how strong and what direction the wind is blowing, and changed course faster than a jackrabbit chased by the hounds.
He figures he'll pick up more conservative viewers, and that will make his ratings fly higher than a deadhead after marathon concert.
After things calm down and the ratings are set in stone, he'll start spewing more leftist bile than Rosie on Ex-Lax.

Other thread
here. Most of us are a little verklempt.
To: texlok
Most lefties ARE defensive of the USA...they just ultimately want a dictator of the proletariat of their own choosing, NOT one from an outside enemy. (A skunk singing God Bless America still smells the same as one singing Give Peace a Chance.)

Watching Dan Rather on David Letterman, and for the first time, I've heard a network anchor lay it down totally, he flat out said these radicals hate us and want to see us dead. And it only took 5,000 dead Americans and the collapse of the two largest buildings in the New York City skyline for Dan to figure that out.
Whatta guy!
