I suggested something kind of like this in another context. For people who are violently anti-abortion, but don't like the idea of shooting abortionists, I suggested kidnapping them and mutilating them in some non-fatal way that would make it impossible for them to continue performing abortions (say, amputation of one or both thumbs), then releasing them.

For some reason, most of the folks who responded thought this was sicker and more disturbing than just shooting them in the head. I never understood that...

They're not human beings but walking bombs ready to go off any second. Terrorists are not deserving of humane compassion. If we can't lobotomize them lets see a bullet between their eyes. We can't afford to keep them around since they're way too dangerous being hostili humanis generis and are as loathsome as cockroaches.

We should kill all the terrorists we can find. If you don't have the stomach for it, don't worry, I am sure they can find the personnel to get the job done. After killing all of the terrorists we can find, their bodies should be taken to America's pig farms and used for feed.

C'mon - get a clue. There are no quick answers here. Going off half-cocked will do no good. What we need is strict adherences to scientific method. Repetition. Repeatability. Control groups. Let's examine both methods for a good decade than decide upon the proper course of action.

I can't see where my background has any bearing on the discussion at hand. Will telling anyone about myself change the morality of certain actions?
