QUIX NOTE: I normally am very skeptical of such and still have some reservations. I also believe Scriptures often have layers of meaning as well as layers of application--some immediate, some timeless, some future--often all of the above. Still, the Brazil Bro's comments coupled with the Scriptures make some very interesting and good points, in my view. May be worth your prayerful pondering.

Christian Ubah, One of our Sermon Fodder Subscribers, has found a biblical reference that very well could be attached to the recent events at the World Trade Center. I'm not here to debate this, just to share it. I will note that while Daniel and Psalms may not immediately come to mind when we think about prophecy, both contain significant prophetic chapters. There is an analysis from a Brazilian brother following the verses.

IT'S IN THE BIBLE: DANIEL CHAPTER 8
The twin building (WTC) has been traced to the book of Daniel chapter #8. The EU currency will be launched in Jan 02 and many more end time events that will shake the world are yet to come. Be prepared!!!
Read Daniel 8 below and be blessed in Jesus name, Amen. Spread the good tidings, save a soul today.
1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, [even unto] me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.
6 And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

I sincerely pray that the Lord would give you all understand of the above scripture. Be prepared for the coming of the Lord is very soon. Remember, a thousand years is like a day to him. His promise shall never fail. I beseech you all that we should remember fellow Christians that are passing through difficult times and persecution at this moment.
Brethren, Afternoon all. Earlier today I posted a message from Daniel 8. The Lord opened the eyes of my wife to this passage around 2 am this morning while we were praying for peace in America and the middle-east.
The message of Jehovah God is very clear. " I am coming very soon to reward everyone according to the works of his/her hands". We should all strive to be holy and move closer to Him. The inspiration that the Lord gave my family on the passage is. What happened yesterday is not a coincidence brothers and sisters:
1) The Scripture is being fulfilled right now in our generation
2) The devil is getting madder daily.
3) The host of heaves [sheaves of grain???] is getting prepared for the return of Jesus Christ.
4) The ram with the two horns is the World Trade Centre Twin buildings. These building stood close to a river in Manhattan, New York.
5)'The two horns were high' which signifies the height of the buildings.
6)'But one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
7) The two buildings were completed in 1972 and 1973 respectively with the highest being completed in 1973.
8) That one of the buildings was struck from the West wing is not a coincidence too. See verse 5 of Daniel 8. 'The goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground'.
9) 'And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power'.
That was what happened. Brethren, we should not join the world to apportion blame to one. We should be aware that the scripture is being fulfilled with very high accuracy. Let us all remember our brethren world-wide in prayers. Remember the words of God 'I would not alter the things that has gone out of my mouth'.
God bless you all.

I also believe it is fitting and God ordained for appropriate governmental leaders [i.e. Bush etc.] to apportion responsibility and exact suitable punishment. At the same time, it is fitting and expected of our Lord who gave His All for the whole world--it is fitting for believers to forgive and feed their enemies. Doing so under Holy Spirit's guidance and witht he wisdom to avoid encouraging evil is certainly essential.
I believe Ben Laden et al are saturated with demonic evil and must be treated accordingly. I believe many peoples in sympathy with him have been brutalized by greed etc. exemplified by the WTC and so much of western arrogance. Pride goes before a fall. Western pride hasn't finished falling yet.
Flame away if such a perspective jangles your sensibilities too much. But please excuse me if I don't respond to flames.
I believe these are the times the Bible speaks so much of.
I believe more information from all perspectives and directions is probably better than less.
I believe the folk hereon are great at gleaning worth from whatever data from whatever source(s).
Sincerely, Quix
Luke 21
31 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
32 "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
8:15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. 8:18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 8:21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
Some people are so guillible!
It is clear that some of you bible-beaters are going to be worthless in this war on terrorism.
Yeah .... well ya got me there .....
That statement is meant to convey the fury in which the "goat" strikes the "ram". When rams ram each other they become airborn before the hit.
This is the silliest thread of all time.
How so?
Rev. 18 doesn't refer to the U.S. either. There was no advanced country such as the U.S. in North America in biblical times.
The Phoenicians were based in Tyre and had settlements and trade networks throughout the world including up the Amazon thousands of years ago.
If the U.S. appears in prophecy it would probably considered as an extension of Europe.
The U.S. is all over prophecy. Part of the battle of Armageddon will be in Alaska. The U.S. is part of latter Israel. The U.S., Israel, Ireland, and the countries of the U.K. are latter day Israel. Jacob's trouble is Israel's trouble is the U.S.'s trouble is the U.K.'s trouble.
All of the biblical writers were Jews.
The Jews did not exist until Judah was born and his descendants multiplied in Egypt.
Jerusalem and Israel were the center of the world to the biblical writers. But the principles of God's Word apply to nations whether their nations are mentioned or not. For the record, biblical Babylon is modern Iraq,...
I disagree, it looks to me that latter Babylon is Rome, Rome killed the saints.
...biblical Persia is Iran [we still refer to the Persian Gulf], etc. The Bible needs to be studied in its historical context. I believe it is inerrantly true, but it takes research and commitment to study biblical places, place names and concepts without unwittingly Americanizing or Westernizing them.
Judah is only one of up to 13 tribes (however you want to count them, 11 to 13), The tribes of Israel scattered throut Europe and the U.K., and the U.S. and now back to Israel.
Do the U.S. some good and spread the Gospel in Afghanistan.
